- edstate, on 04/03/2009, -1/+28Jeesh... my skin crawled the whole time I listened to that. Heebaahaeebbbewwwww! I've been in that situation, and it sucks. Good on that guy from remaining so calm.
The fact is cops do this ***** anyway. But now they have so many more excuses to act like total douchebags. Great. Yay.
...Goooooo Government!!
/we're *****... :( - normlsparky, on 04/03/2009, -0/+23That's total *****. The TSA and airport security have moved well beyond verifying that passengers aren't taking bombs, guns or other dangerous items on a flight. Wasn't that their original objective, to make flights safer? How does cash pose a threat to anyone on the flight?
- Acrinimiril, on 04/03/2009, -0/+21Here's a more direct link to just the audio recording:
http://www.dailynewscaster.com/2009/04/02/audio-fu ... - sheeplescareme, on 04/03/2009, -1/+21he did the right thing. if more people handled themselves when confronted with "authority" as he did, we'd be so much stronger for it.
- mkauai, on 04/03/2009, -0/+19To read the MIAC report and the FPIAC report ;) see:
http://c4liberty.com/?p=93 - MooseOfReason, on 04/03/2009, -0/+17When they say, "Your papers, please," you would never guess they were asking for your money.
- edstate, on 04/03/2009, -3/+19PS, I wonder how this will play here on digg?
Ron Paul = good
Freedom = good
+ Fox News = head explosion - Acrinimiril, on 04/03/2009, -0/+15I don't think anybody would like to be detained and threatened just for carrying cash.
- Acrinimiril, on 04/03/2009, -0/+13Direct link to audio recording:
http://www.dailynewscaster.com/2009/04/02/audio-fu ... - Acrinimiril, on 04/03/2009, -0/+11Agreed. What is he going to do with cash? Throw it at someone?
They would probably like that! - inactive, on 04/03/2009, -0/+11"The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment."

(PDF)
http://documents.scribd.com/docs/1xduds3zv8npsq67k ... - Acrinimiril, on 04/03/2009, -1/+9It's none of their business why he is carrying cash! I'm proud he stood up against government oppresion, rather than giving in to pressure. That's what a patriot does.
***** like you are why we have to be questioned in the first place and why the government is seizing so much control. All you care about is yourself and you ignore everything else.
Well, just wait until your rights are violated! If you don't do anything about it, it will happen eventually. - maxtangent, on 04/03/2009, -0/+7And not in a good way.
- JiveDadson, on 04/03/2009, -0/+6Hard to believe that only a few years ago the airlines were responsible for protecting their own property, and no one had to put up with those thugs. Not to get on a plane anyway.
- Acrinimiril, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4I've heard that before; that if you deposit more than 10k into your bank account, then the bank has to report it.
This guy in the video only had $4,700. Seems like they were just screwing with him and did not know his phone was recording! - boardthis, on 04/04/2009, -0/+4i don't get it. was the money shredded up into a clear plastic bottle that was greater than 3 ounces? did the blue and yellow on the ziploc bag not seal correctly to make green?
- JoeParanoid, on 04/03/2009, -2/+6If he was carrying ten grand or more, it's likely a case of drug dealing or money laundering. Anything less is no one's business.
- joshtg, on 04/04/2009, -0/+3I have to catch a flight in the morning. Wish me luck!!
- Acrinimiril, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3Judge Andrew P. Napolitano graduated from Princeton University in 1972 and the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1975. He is the youngest life-tenured Superior Court judge in the history of the State of New Jersey.
For eleven years, Judge Napolitano was an adjunct professor of law at Seton Hall Law School, where he taught constitutional law and jurisprudence and was voted most outstanding professor in three different academic years.
"Congressman Ron Paul, Republican from Texas, the greatest defender of the Constitution in the Congress today."
- Judge Napolitano, Freedom Watch 3/25/09 - inactive, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3There was no douchey Hannity, O'Reilly or Beck, though.
Love Ron Paul, hate Fox News...the jury's still out on Napolitano. Anyone know more about him and would care to express? - akhomestead, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3That's true, over 10K transaction must be reported to the IRS unless:
1. Your a board member at a bank
2. Your a board member of a corporation on the NYSE
3. Your a Federal Gov. elected official.
Hmmm. - Acrinimiril, on 04/04/2009, -0/+2Just don't take any cash with you.
...or Ron Paul bumper stickers. - brad3378, on 04/03/2009, -14/+1***** like this guy are the reason why it takes so damn long to get through the airport.
Just answer the G.D. question!
