- Rodalli, on 11/28/2008, -4/+41"The crash comes 29 years to the day that an Air New Zealand DC10 crashed into Mt Erebus, killing all 257 passengers and crew."
To anyone flying Air New Zealand on November 28, 2037... CANCEL YOUR FLIGHT! - Paulorific, on 11/27/2008, -10/+41"French radio says one person is known to be dead and the others are missing."
They belong to the island now. - nshady, on 11/28/2008, -3/+28Hey, look everyone! It's a massive d-bag!
- tremerevamp, on 11/28/2008, -0/+17Test flight - Aircraft was on lease to XL Airways for three years from Air New Zealand and was doing test flights for its return.
- inactive, on 11/28/2008, -1/+16You trolling off-topic piece of plankton.
- TheJimid, on 11/28/2008, -0/+13You forgot to put Test Flight in your title.
- sparkie, on 11/28/2008, -2/+13This [Breaking] crap has to end, I thought that was the whole point of news ... it was meant to be new ...
- inactive, on 11/27/2008, -11/+21WILSON!!!!
- martyFREEDOM, on 11/28/2008, -2/+11*Dramatic loud horns - commercial break*
- brettgnz, on 11/28/2008, -0/+9This is only the third crash in Air New Zealand's history. Qantas is the one which is having near-misses every other month. Air NZ =/ Qantas.
- farfromhere, on 11/28/2008, -0/+9Oddly enough, I was just reading about the '79 NZ crash on Wikipedia about an hour ago. Creeeeeeepy.
- skiier239, on 11/28/2008, -1/+10It is important to note that although this plane belonged to Air New Zealand, they were not flying the aircraft at the time of the crash. At the time of the crash the aircraft was still leased to XL Airways in Germany and wasn't due to be flown by Air New Zealand until next week. Air New Zealand is a very outstanding airline and has a great safety record in modern times. I can say they are still my favourite airline to fly on. If anyone is at fault for this, it is the German airline, XL.
- RansomHoldiay, on 11/28/2008, -0/+9i mean honestly... you could get away with the rest but lost is for mexicans living in america? i mean right wing nuts wouldnt even stick with you on that one.
- inactive, on 11/28/2008, -3/+9No joke. Last night I had a dream where a medium sized airplane took off and then suddenly took a nose dive and landed into the water. I was in a hotel room on vacation, got woken up by alarm. 1 second later my dad turned on the TV to CNN. I open my eyes and the first thing i see and hear was that a plane had fallen into the Mediterranean. Creepy way to start the day.

- doublefelix, on 11/28/2008, -2/+8These test pilots and crew are heros. Thank god they were doing their job before this plane went into circulation on commercial flights.
- JoeBeardie, on 11/28/2008, -0/+6If its going to get the [Breaking] into the title it could at least be around the time the event actually happened, not much much later into the day. Kind of ruins the point of 'breaking'.
- geekoid, on 11/28/2008, -2/+7You come to Digg for sensitivity? That's like going to a leper colony for a skin graft!
- ElectricNZ, on 11/28/2008, -0/+5One of my best friends who personally knows the NZ Captain?
- inactive, on 11/28/2008, -0/+5It was a test flight for NZ and Qantas has never crashed a plane yet, sure some ***** got ripped off the plane midflight but you know what, that's because they moved servicing the planes INTO ASIA where it is CHEAP. Asian mechanics are as bad as asian drivers, ***** hopeless. Qantas "crashed" a plane while BEING TOWED ON THE TARMAC. Another nosedived for a second, it was a fault with the computer, the plane manufacturers problem, not Qantas. Check your facts before you post, you're really more of a dumb fuxxx then you seem to realize.
- KyleGoetz, on 11/28/2008, -1/+6I agree, replaysMike. The nice thing is that I get to block more people and that means fewer comments on Digg in the future, thus saving me time!
I suggest we all bury and report these people. When you bury, Digg asks if a person is being offensive (to report them). If making jokes about a person who just died hours ago isn't "offensive," I sure as hell don't know what is. - kyelewis, on 11/28/2008, -2/+6digg is so not conductive to "breaking" news of this nature. It's breaking when it's submitted but by the time it hits the front page... :(
- inactive, on 11/28/2008, -4/+8This is tragic, but
BREAKING: ***** you. - searcade, on 11/28/2008, -0/+4LATEST: Officials have named the fifth Kiwi presumed dead after today's Air New Zealand airbus crash off the coast of France.
- martyFREEDOM, on 11/28/2008, -0/+4Ah, didn't realize it was a test flight.
- AfrikaKorps, on 11/28/2008, -0/+4I ***** hate people like you who pull this *****.
- weech, on 11/28/2008, -4/+8RIP my friends.
- martyFREEDOM, on 11/28/2008, -0/+3That is a pretty big plane for only 7 passengers.
- asgardshill, on 11/28/2008, -1/+4Seven souls on board? Were they deadheading or was it a small airliner?
- brightshadow525, on 11/28/2008, -0/+3People are dying left and right...
- ThisCommentSux, on 11/28/2008, -0/+3Bury & report marettn - this link hijacks your browser window - DO NOT CLICK.
- isunktheship, on 11/28/2008, -0/+3...and on Thanksgiving no less.
The only good news is that since this was a test flight it wasn't filled to capacity (150), could have been much worse. - dawnraid101, on 11/28/2008, -0/+3I am your precious
- DjOverEZ, on 11/28/2008, -1/+4No, the only good news is that they don't celebrate Thanksgiving in NZ.
- Petrarch1603, on 11/28/2008, -2/+4I want a list of names in 3 days
- inactive, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Good if they dropped anything of value.
- DeskFlyer, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Indeed. Luckily this didn't happen with 200 people on board, as unfortunate as the accident was. I'm always morbidl fascinated with crashes involving large airplanes, so I hope to find out the cause of this crash soon so it doesn't happen to anyone else. RIP to the crew on board.
- TwiiLight, on 11/28/2008, -3/+5***** lold
- KyleGoetz, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Agreed. We need more people like you, weech. If you are not my enemy, you are my friend.
- inactive, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Why? What's so amazing about it? Why don't you tell us? Do you have something to hide? Why so evasive? Are you sure it's amazing? Are you sure it's not a steaming pile of *****?
- fuxxx, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2lol
- Chaindrop, on 11/28/2008, -2/+4THE GAME
- xjeffx, on 11/28/2008, -1/+3Too soon.
- jhoogy, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Yeah this was a test flight as it came back from lease. Apparently the company that was leasing it went under. Maybe they didn't do the proper maintenance. Crazy that its 29 years to the day of the Erebus crash.
- domfosnz, on 11/28/2008, -1/+3Sorry for the [Breaking] in the title. When I posted, it was breaking news here in NZ.
Allthough, technically, it has been breaking all day as this item has been updated extensively since the website published it this morning NZ time. - doublefelix, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Sure, blame the Germans.
- binarybyron, on 11/29/2008, -0/+1the same won't be said when you die. Nobody would give a ***** to start with.
- nydwarf, on 11/28/2008, -0/+1That's an insensitive title.
