- mrpeg, on 07/23/2008, -0/+3Used and discarded like yesterday's trash. Like our government's current stand on what constitutes torture, its despicable.
- KPetrenko, on 07/23/2008, -0/+2I wouldn't say the ribbon magnet itself is a lie, but I find it dreadfully shallow and simplistic. Who sports a yellow ribbon who doesn't support the concept of supporting the troops? How may decent citizens don't, regardless of their political leanings? Not many, I'd guess. However, the ribbon does succeed in obscuring the lack of support so clearly and painfully demonstrated by BrokenSoldier, a lack so clearly at odds with the empty rhetoric (lies) of the current administration. It also carries with it the unspoken implication, so often uttered (spoken, screamed) by voices from the political right-wing, that those who oppose the war don't "support the troops," and that's a lie as well - a slanderous one.

maybe we should require the brass to take a tour? - djinngenie, on 07/23/2008, -0/+1Shows the "support our troops" car magnets to be a lie. At the least.
