- Chompy, on 02/07/2008, -3/+55Perhaps within Camp 7 there is an even tinier, more secret camp.
- noupsell, on 02/07/2008, -9/+59that's probably where they keep Osama and make his 'Emmanuel Goldstein' videos to further Big Brothers Agenda for Oceania
- inactive, on 02/07/2008, -19/+62The narrative is increasingly reminiscent of World War II, Hitler and German war crimes.
- DreKor, on 02/07/2008, -4/+27I'll be pissed when they "catch" Osama in October this year.
- ADIDAS247, on 02/07/2008, -7/+28Hey, what's the big deal? I went to a camp when I was a kid. We played football and roasted marshmellows, I'm sure it's the same thing
- inactive, on 02/07/2008, -7/+24"securing" your rights by taking your rights.
- inactive, on 02/07/2008, -14/+29Are you saying there are absolutely no parallels between 21st century atrocities and WWII / German war crimes? Ever hear of waterboarding? It's one of the war crimes that the U.S. chose to prosecute to the full extent of the law. Of course, back then it was 'the enemy' who was doing the waterboarding. Now we're trying to weasel our way into this suspect area with rhetoric that preys entirely on American fears. Let's not forget that part of what made Hitler so dangerous was the rise of fascism (albeit on the other side of the spectrum) and the desire to cleanse the world of the imperfect Jews. While I'm not suggesting Bush is actively seeking to wipe out the Muslim world, what he does have is a religious war on his hands and it is in no small part due to his inability to handle the responsibility thrust upon 'leaders of the free world.' As far as 'experimenting' -- I don't know what you call rape, humiliation, and the psychological warfare that we engaged in at Al Ghraib, but it's nothing to scoff at. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Ghraib_prisoner_a ...
- appleseed1234, on 02/07/2008, -2/+14I put on my robe and wizard hat...
- ethanpack, on 02/07/2008, -1/+13Exactly. To put out a conspiracy for a continued Republican-run administration, one or more of the following things can/would happen:
- Osama Bin Laden is caught before November.
- A terrorist (or "terrorist") attack occurs before November.
- New evidence proves Iran is ramping up nuclear ambitions or is implicated to be preparing an attack or some other military action deemed unfavorable by North America. - petoria, on 02/07/2008, -1/+13They are easier to secure when there are fewer of them.
- SteelyDuran, on 02/07/2008, -1/+13"Buzby told the AP he is sharply limiting to a "very few" the number of people who know Camp 7's whereabouts."
He's keeping this SO quiet, in fact, that only the AP, Yahoo news, CNN, Fox News, Reuters, and their respective readerships know anything about it.
Shhh! Don't tell anyone! - DeadElephantORG, on 02/07/2008, -1/+11OK, either this comment is sarcasm gone awry, or it gets my vote for all time absolute stupidest comment ever seen on Digg. "let the big guys handle it"! Let Nazis be Nazis, eh? And it's "definitely obvious what will happen next". My dear retarded friend, the last ***** place on EARTH any terrorist is going to try to "infiltrate" is the inner torture chambers at Gitmo. For what purpose would they attempt this?! No. The only reason to keep Camp 7 a secret is so that the war crimes being committed there right now, in your name and mine, can continue. Can you hear the SCREAMING Avgeneral?
- alkajazz, on 02/07/2008, -1/+11Yeah good idea, lets just look the other way.
- HalfGiraffe, on 02/07/2008, -1/+11Didn't this use to be a war crime back in the day? Weren't you supposed to tell the Red Cross who you were holding prisoner? Didn't the Yanks get a bit miffed with the Vietnamese about secret prisons in the aftermath of their last military fiasco?
- isage, on 02/07/2008, -0/+8Room 101?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Room_101 - Phrag, on 02/07/2008, -1/+8Is anyone else getting really tired of the government not telling us what they do with our money? We, the workers of America, run this country. The politicians don't. If they can't trust us enough to tell us the truth, then I don't trust them enough to give them my money. We work our asses off to make enough to get by, while they barely work at all, waste our money and tell us that its for our own good. This nonsense has got to stop. If they can't tell us with complete honesty and pride what they do with my taxes, then they shouldn't be doing it.
- zeabu, on 02/07/2008, -1/+7Or all 3 together.
- FoxFaction, on 02/07/2008, -3/+9There's some odd feeling I have that this becoming like Germany isn't possible, there's not a world war on. Then I remember that a few years before the world war, there was no world war, and they probably felt the way we feel now.
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 02/07/2008, -5/+11Hiding in plain sight. Genius!
- fredrated, on 02/07/2008, -1/+7What is this supposed to mean? That distruction of basic rights that date from the Magna Carta is only a concern of liberals? That conservatives support the rights of Kings? Why do you hate America's freedoms?
- GhostyBoy, on 02/07/2008, -0/+6Sometimes on digg, you see a comment getting dugg up that you don't get. So you google it. 20 minutes later you come back, tears in your eyes from laughing so damn hard. Thanks for that man.
- freezeout, on 02/07/2008, -5/+10and lets not forget about all those secret detention centers that Halliburton built right here in the good 'ol US of A. I wonder who they plan to put in these secret facilities...
- DreKor, on 02/07/2008, -0/+5True. Hopefully I'll be wrong again.
- Phrag, on 02/07/2008, -0/+5If the big guys want to handle it, then the big guys can pay for it and guard it too. I'm sick of being told to hand over my money but not being told what it is being used for.
- psg188, on 02/07/2008, -1/+6That's where they intend to put Uwe Boll if he makes another movie.
- AtHomeBoy2000, on 02/07/2008, -2/+7It's Section 31!
http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Section_31 - zeabu, on 02/07/2008, -1/+6I think you don't understand what DreKor is referring at.
- inajeep, on 02/07/2008, -2/+6I question the govt as much as possible but this isn't news unless they find something spectacular there. So they have another camp where they keep the new higher up prisoners in. They want to keep it a secret so information doesn't get processed by the detainees and/or for security reasons. Sounds like a prison camp to me.
- borez, on 02/07/2008, -4/+8I've read about what goes on camps 1-6 and that's bad enough, so god knows what they get up to in camp 7?
- kraant, on 02/07/2008, -0/+4I fail to see the problem with this
- inactive, on 02/07/2008, -2/+6The more comfortable we get with this the more easily excuses will be accepted as to why we "temporarily" need it within US borders for US citizens.
- inactive, on 02/07/2008, -2/+6So you would compare waterboarding to Butchering Jews during the holocaust?
diggsense FTW - asskey, on 02/07/2008, -2/+6You know Iran can do something wrong...just because it hasn't yet doesn't mean it won't. But if Osama is caught or we are attacked again I would think we'd have reason to be suspicious.
- thcobbs, on 02/07/2008, -0/+4can you say that they were waterboarded? I know Kahlid Sheik Muhammed was.... but as for others, I don't know.
- zeabu, on 02/07/2008, -2/+6Intel inside
- thebaron2, on 02/07/2008, -13/+17While I'm not as outspoken as Dan, this really doesn't seem like a big deal. FTA, it's basically a separate area where they transferred the 14 guys being held by the CIA previously. FTA:
"He described it as a maximum security facility that was already built when President Bush announced in September 2006 that 14 high-value terrorism suspects had been transferred from CIA secret detention facilities to Guantanamo. An additional detainee, Abd al-Hadi al-Iraqi, arrived last April.
"They went straight into that facility," Buzby said."
It doesn't mention anything about separate treatment or anything, but as far as having a more secure area for "high profile/high value" prisoners I don't really have a problem with it. - axehind, on 02/07/2008, -5/+9Wait a minute!!!
Your telling me that the U.S. Government is doing something that the public doesnt know about? - Malevolant, on 02/07/2008, -2/+5There are no parallels you ignorant slut
- GfunkGbuss, on 02/07/2008, -0/+3Is it like a lock-box?
- inajeep, on 02/07/2008, -3/+6You know I hate this unjust war but this forced Iraq conflict is not WWII. The atrocities done by the Nazis especially the human expirimentation, the holocaust is done on purpose. I don't see this corrupt govt. doing the same thing. Now the Iraqi's might feel differently getting caught in the cross-fire but the fact remains there is no executive order to exterminate the Iraqis as a people.
- MindTrigger, on 02/07/2008, -0/+3Dane Cook has a soundproof room waiting too.
- GhostyBoy, on 02/07/2008, -2/+5They aren't going to delay or suspend the election. The illusion of democracy is vital to avoiding a public uprising. Passing the presidential hat is part of the illusion that the people are in control.
Bush is a puppet, he will be replaced by another puppet. Banks and corporations own America. - fredrated, on 02/07/2008, -0/+3Next thing you know we will learn there is a secret place inside the White House where the country is really run from.
- zeabu, on 02/07/2008, -1/+4The kind of democracy the USA have brought to Iraq en Afghanistan, isn't it?
- inactive, on 02/07/2008, -1/+4" let the big guys handle it."
-- is this also a sexual fantasy for you??? - LeRenard, on 02/07/2008, -1/+4Thank you Jack Handy.
- scoottie, on 02/07/2008, -4/+6exactly its like a high security section
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 02/07/2008, -11/+13"I don't know what you call rape, humiliation, and the psychological warfare that we engaged in at Al Ghraib"
I call it a crime that soldiers were thrown in jail and incompetent commanders were fired for. I don't call it reminiscent of Nazi concentration camps. - amirman, on 02/08/2008, -0/+2is that where they keep the actual terrorists?
- inactive, on 02/08/2008, -0/+2madness???
