90% of Houston Traffic Lights Damaged, 5-7 Weeks to Repair

chron.com — At least 90% of Houston's 2,500 intersections with traffic lights sustained damage from Hurricane Ike. At this date, at least 1,200 traffic lights are still not working. The biggest issue is going out and making repairs on the signals, as well as waiting for power to be restored. It may take another six weeks to fix them all and get traffic moving.
