- darkane, on 10/11/2007, -1/+30I remember a story years ago about a judge who told a defendant (convicted of beating an elderly lady who was out walking with her granddaughter, who had to watch it take place) that his punishment should be having to witness his own grandmother being beaten. The judge wasn't serious, of course, but the guy freaked out and had to be subdued.
It's strange how somebody can be so immoral about destroying someone else's life, and then be so defensive about the same thing happening to them or somebody that they care about. There are a few ways to level the playing field when it comes to personal defense, but they are no longer legal in Australia.
