What is it nutter, bombastic and whatever ***** is running DC claim?
Something about their crime problem is caused by easy access to firearms in other states? So, where are the contiguous areas to St. Croix ??
Oh, across an expanse of the Caribbean Ocean . . . .
Hoplophobes = FAIL.- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 05/22/2008, -0/+4Hey I learned a word today!
- keltin, on 05/21/2008, -1/+29Way to go police. Turn your criminal into a victim, by one simple act of ignorance that I hope makes the police into defendents by the man's family. Perhaps the five invaders had a paid-accomplice in the local gendarmes, and there wasn't anyone who was effectively protecting this man from a pack of killers?
- punx, on 05/21/2008, -0/+25So, let me get this straight. A guy is brought into the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. So he obviously has an enemy or two, and the police don't bother to offer protection to him? Seems like a pretty good decision to me.
- Kent4jmj, on 05/21/2008, -1/+272nd Ammendment what a waste of time. What were the fonding father's thinking? That an armed citizenry, not bad guys, is one of the best deterents to crime. Ya think, maybe?
- kirralin23, on 05/22/2008, -0/+18You cannot count on the police to protect you. You must be able to defend yourself.
- Qong, on 05/22/2008, -1/+11That's a crazy story. I can't even imagine armed men invading a hospital to kill someone...
What are the gun laws like in the Virgin Islands? I'm not quite sure myself, but it's likely that they don't have many guns, as it isn't a very large land mass. This just goes to show you that bad people, criminals, are going to get guns no matter what, and they are going to do bad things with them.- IconoclastStill, on 05/22/2008, -1/+9Exactly my point when I shouted this, amigo. It is the perfect example trumping the hoplophobes' mantra that all their prohibitions *would* prevent crimes if only the rest of the nation embraced the same unconstitutional measures.
- MadKennyP, on 05/22/2008, -3/+2Obviously, they already have 5 guns too many.
- Stanly22, on 05/22/2008, -0/+8I thought this only happened in the movies.
- karishore, on 05/22/2008, -1/+10Coming to America soon: No arms. So Sad. Wake up America, we'll be next... getting frightfully close.
- SuperVepr308, on 05/22/2008, -0/+8I'll be damned. As Heston said, "from my cold, dead hands". And yes, I mean it.
- DesertDad, on 05/22/2008, -0/+11Remember that Hitler, Stalin, and Mao all enforced confiscation of guns which were in the hands of private citizens. So when the liberals (libero-fascists) insist on massive gun control, the legacies of those mass murderers is where it can lead.
If politicians seek gun control, vote them out. If courts do not support the constitution, they are unconstitutional and the people are enjoined to remedy the situation. Thomas Jefferson was right, to paraphrase - from time to time, the Tree of Liberty requires the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Make your vote count in November, it is a duty of citizens of a Republic.
Oh, karishore - if confiscation comes to America, I also believe in Heston's 'cold dead fingers...' And where I live, I believe the current county officers would not abrogate the Constitution (the bicoastal Feds don't like us much out here).- SuperVepr308, on 05/22/2008, -0/+7Same here. I met with a game warden (they are like gods with the power they have) out at the range I go to. He spent a good 15 minutes bashing gun laws and the ATF. I just smiled and nodded my head as he venting. He was a cool guy and was apparently a hardcore Constitutionalist. That is nice to see in a public servant (and all too rare).
