- genomega, on 01/01/2009, -0/+23Sad, Cuba used to be such a beautiful place.
- EMFK, on 01/01/2009, -0/+21Cubans, throughout the five decades, have shared with the world their talents in music, sports, culture, food, and so many other things. When Cuba is finally free, the world will become a better place.
Thanks for posting, zurama. - inactive, on 01/02/2009, -0/+15I have never seen such utter destruction as that which Castro has done to his people. This should be a wake up call for those of us who live in the US to re-learn to appreciate what we have and not what we don't have. I hope the People of Cuba know that we care and pray that this destruction and neglect of it's people will end.
- zurama, on 01/02/2009, -1/+9Cuba receives meat, vegetables, fruits and grains from the USA. The embargo has to do with things that would give more power to the Regime, like credit. All the Castro's have to do is, free the political prisoners, stop the repression of it's people, and have free elections.
- Nannybell, on 01/02/2009, -3/+11Dictatorial regimes are so utterly evil. Pray that those living under such conditions will be set free.
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" -- Jeremiah 17:9 - jimw428, on 01/02/2009, -0/+7Thanks for the post Zurama
A disturbing view of Castro's "Workers Paradise', up close and personal. It's sad to see a proud and industrious people forced to live in such poverty. Die Castro, you Son of a Bitch! - jimw428, on 01/02/2009, -0/+5That's right, let's blame the good old USA. How about giving credit where credit is due? The communist system imposed by Castro destroyed Cuba, and the Russians didn't help either by attempting to establish military bases. The embargo doesn't prohibit food or medical supplies, which are routinely shipped to Cuba. The restrictions primarily affect investment capital, tourism and manufactured goods. Energy issues are offset by the relationship with Chavez, and China can supply all the manufactured goods the Cubans can afford to buy. The problem is the corrupt and inefficient system Castro imposed, not the embargo. Potential investors from Europe, Asia and South America avoid Cuba like the plague, and without new capital the economy will continue to flounder, Ask yourself why they don't invest.
There are so many countries that haven't honored the US embargo that alternative sources of supply are readily available elsewhere, but Cuba doesn't have any money. The only thing they really lack from us is foreign aid, and I for one don't see that happening until the Castro brothers are gone and democracy is established. - Nannybell, on 01/02/2009, -3/+7We aren't starving them. Their dictator is starving them.
- alais, on 01/02/2009, -3/+6*****.
- djodorg, on 01/02/2009, -0/+2Digged it
- emailowndme, on 01/02/2009, -1/+3sadly, I have to digg up nocommies,
The continued embargoe and against cuba does nothing, but hurt the lowest class of people within her borders. Castro certainly isn't suffering because of our embargo, so why do we continue it, because it will make the people of cuba love us, the people who have made them suffer for 50 years? Because it will stop the spread of communism?
I understand that Castro is a bad man, but making his people weak so that they cannot resist him, and walling him off in isolation so he can do as he see's fit is the answer. Please... - kaelyiesta, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1jwalt1776, your reply strikes me as a copypasta job that doesn't even really fit the subject. There is no mention of which politicians placed the embargo, nor any implied blame against bush, and the capitalized insults are just meaningless. It's as if you are arguing an issue that hasn't even been raised, and insulting those very non existent people who raised it.
Besides the history lesson on who started the embargo, that response of yours is worthless.
the tldr; version of what I think of your nonsense: lolwut - emailowndme, on 01/02/2009, -2/+3Thank you, and while this evil man rules in the lap of luxury from the fruits of his peoples labor, the poorest hope that their daughters are attractive enough to get more then the eye's of those people who are rich enough to break the US embargo and do a little "sight seeing" in Cuba.
- oldhick, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1Of course. If our actions had no impact then why would we do them.
- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -2/+2Your living in the past Buddy and are, "Totally Nilistic!"
- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -3/+3Did any of you look into your *id* and realize they were in the middle of the Cuban Missile Crisis. That is why there has been an embargo, "Put in place by, your hero, "John Fitzgerald Kennedy!" (A Democrat!)
Stop reading *Wikipedia* the, "Encyclopedia of Lies and Propaganda!
You sound like your *Blaming George Bush* for these Embargo's Against Cuba!
You are a Pedantantic, Pontificating, Pretentious, Bunch of Fools!
"Get some Schooling you need it!" - inactive, on 01/02/2009, -5/+5But, but, but that's not possible!!
Every one of my Dopey Liberal Leftist Moonbat college professors told me Communism is the best! - emailowndme, on 01/02/2009, -3/+2Certainly helping the people starve is obviously the best option right?
- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -3/+2I can see Cuba from my house.
- dinostabOMG, on 01/02/2009, -4/+3I'm not an expert on the subject, but couldn't the embargo and constant bullying and meddling by the superpower next door have at least something to do with it?
- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -6/+4When the Batista government kept all the popor peasants out fo sight and severely repressed and let American mobsters run the country.
Vegas is a beautiful place also, until your look at the underbelly and see all the homelessness and poverty.
So Castro stopped Cuba from becomming the Las Vegas of the Carribean and gave everyone a modest life instead of most living in abject poverty and a heandful owning the country.
I am totally against communism, but if given a choice between an oppressive communist governmnet and an oppressive mobster run government, I would choose communism. - emailowndme, on 01/02/2009, -4/+2While waiting for Castro to die of old age, our embargo of his state has created so much suffering in the people of Cuba, and though they may not like us right now, I'm sure that they would thank us for opening up their economy by breaking up our embargo of his state.
Right now, the lucky ones in Cuba survive by prostitution to tourists from other nations, that's a real life we've given them there, sexually serving the ones who prevent them from flourishing. - inactive, on 01/02/2009, -7/+5And we will show that we care by imposing an embargo on Cuba and starving her people.
- AngelaQ, on 01/02/2009, -6/+3Right. He made us starve them. What a piece of propaganda.
- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -4/+1Lol, one sentence and a bunch of pics and you think this is an argument.
Cuba is in great shape. They were predicting an 8% growth for 2009 but got hit by a series of hurricanes and the prediction is now 4% growth.
And you guys are in a recession. And they get free health care and a free education. - inactive, on 01/02/2009, -7/+4Typical American propaganda. The US embargo crumbled Cuba, not Castro.
- emailowndme, on 01/02/2009, -6/+1Communism and Socialist Democracy are not the same thing, but feel free to continue wallowing in your arrogance.
Not to say that Castro isn't a evil evil man, but certainly the US continuing to make sure his people are weak and starved, isn't helping any kind of mass revolt, demand for free elections, etc. - inactive, on 01/02/2009, -11/+4You mean America will end the Cuban embargo and the nation of Cuba will once again flourish under free trade.
China is Communist, but that doesn't stop America from conducting hundreds of billions of dollars a year of trade with China.
