- iching, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Pretty cool, but Europe is definitely lacking
The only paper in Germany is the "Stars and Stripes" believe or not vs France which has at least La Mode and Le Figaro.- blackjack75, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Huh, it's Le Monde (the world), not la mode (the fashion)... not exactly the same editorial quality :-)
- mightymouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i would LOVE to have an rss feed of this thing- for the countries that i want to see the front page for. that would be freakin' awesome.
- iching, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@blackjack
Well now even that option is gone neither French paper is available now.
I only dugg this because it was a refreshing new way of seeing front pages on one site.
Maybe it has a future with more input.
- MackPrime, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1behold, the super-hyping neoconservative trash that is australian media!
- Porkchoppa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1lol, Africa only one newspaper.
lol, it doesn't even have Egypt's publications in there.- drizek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1they dont have any palestinian newspapers either. I know al-quds, and i know there are at least one or two more.
And not a single one from jordan, iraq, iran, saudi arabia, wtf? Any "news junkie" would be most interested in looking at palestinian/iraqi/iranian newspapers more than anything else, and they dont have a single one.

- jalexhall1989, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0One paper too much. Tagline would have been very catchy!
- megagram, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I like how almost all the Canadian newspapers have a nice "Merry Christmas" greeting taking up the majority of the front page's space whereas many other papers favour regular old news stories and lack such a nice heartfelt message to their readers.
I like being Canadian.- devin_mm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah that is kind of strange, all of the Canadian papers say 'Merry Christmas' in someway or another (I can't read french so I don't know about Quebec) but you look at many of the other papers and they don't say anything about it.
- snowbdr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Obviously there are a multitude of papers missing from around the globe, but this is a great idea. The biggest thing that I see lacking is that you cannot double-click on one of the front page images and be taken to the paper's website. I saw one that I wanted to read and now I've got to go google the name to try and read the article.
Overall it's a great idea and I hope they have the finances to keep refining it. It will be great to browse through the front pages of other countries after major news events to see how they are covered. I mean, I'm not saying that the American media is biased or anything. /sarcasm- Wolfboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Click a dot to see a large-size version of the page in a new window. Then click a link at the top of the window to go to the newspaper's web site.
- AhmedB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've always wondered why do so many sites not understand what the 'middle east' really is, it's supposed to cover all the countries from Persia (Iran) in the east to Mauritius/Mauritania in the west
- mijkal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For the comments about Newseum not representing region X, it's an opt-in service. So African/European/et al papers just have to setup an account and email their pages every night to get listed.
(Disclaimer: I work at a small US newspaper, and we simply email a PDF of our front page each night with a specified file name given by Newseum and it gets processed for the next day; not the most secure method, to be sure). - mubarmij, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here is the reason $your_favorite_place$ is not represented:
They appear to only list newspapers that have a PDF version online. Not that many newspapers do that.- mijkal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not quite; a paper needn't offer a PDF version online to participate. The reason those papers are not represented is that they have not signed up with Newseum and/or sent in a PDF of that day's issue. If you read the Contact Us FAQ, they mention where newspapers should email to setup an account to participate in the exhibit, and from then on it's a matter of emailing a PDF of the front page each night and it will be processed and posted for that day. It's opt-in on each paper's part; Newseum is not scraping web sites for content.
Another interesting use of Newseum is a cafe in Berkley (iirc) that has a slideshow of the front pages on large flat-panel TVs (turned 90º). It was mentioned on Newsdesigner.com/blog/ recently (seems to be down at the moment).

- adolfojp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Fark? Eh... nevermind.
- whistlerpro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1UK Papers?
- Floodle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The only UK paper is "Asharq Al-Awsat" - A traditional broadsheet - lol
- timberwolfblues, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's pretty cool. I hope they add more to it.
- doug123d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This service has actually been around for years, and it appears to have significantly fewer papers than I remember. If it is opt-in, they should market it harder. Legibility of the small type might be nice. And, above all, a better way to navigate the titles!!!! But I "digg" it.
I like the way the pages are unmarred by a center fold. :)
