It really helps put things in perspective. I'm Jewish, and I support Israel, but I (and most Jews i know) feel for the Palestinians.

- dkapuchino, on 06/23/2008, -3/+5Completely agree. Israelis long for peace. Just take a look at the Israeli declaration of independence. 60 years ago, before the Arabs started the 1948 war, Israel put it's arm out in peace. The response was a slap in the face.
  But Israel DOES know how to make peace. It's done so with both Jordan and Egypt. Both used to be sworn enemies. Israel even had a peace agreement with the Palestinians, until they started acts of violence in 2000, after the visit of an Israeli politician to the Temple mount (A holy site to Muslims, but THE most holy site to Judaism). Now the question remains - Israel has made peace with both Egypt and Jordan. The land that the Palestinians claim actually used to be Jordanian and Egyptian land in 1967. Neither Egypt nor Jordan wanted it back. Can the Palestinians broker an agreement with Israel, or will they forever live by their sword(/Qassam rockets/Suicide Bombers)?

I'm still pissed about the way the whole Lebanon conflict was handled a few years back. "Go ahead, bomb a building with 1,000 families because 1 terrorist might be there, we're behind you."

Israel needs to get their act together and work with their neighbors, one day the West is going to become more concerned with their own problems and then Israel might have a big problem on their hand.
