Ossetian Woman: "I want you to know, to whom to blame in this conflict. It is Mr. Saakashvili who started this war, and Mr. Saakashvili who is aggressor, and my people were killed and bombed by him and over 2,000 people were killed in one day..."
Shepard Smith: "Uh, I would never cut you off but we have to go to commercial in 4 seconds..."
Ossetian Woman: "Yes I know, I know you don't want to hear that..."
And here's another video where Fox gets egg all over their faces (they must be off their game today): video of Fox reporter running for his life as he and other journalists are fired upon by disgruntled Georgian forces: http://digg.com/world_news/VIDEO_Georgian_Forces_F ... - inactive, on 08/15/2008, -1/+12Dumbest ***** title ever. - inactive, on 08/16/2008, -0/+4Worst ***** title ever. If you put "FOX NEWS CUTS OFF GIRL FOR SPEAKING TRUTH OF GEORGIAN WAR" it would have gotten 10,000+ diggs. You fail miserably.

- aepereira, on 08/16/2008, -0/+2The foreign policy of the United States regarding this Russian-Georgian conflict is entirely misguided. It is Russia who has the moral authority in this case, not Georgia, and just casus belli to protect its citizens in South Ossetia and Abkhazia from aggression by the forces of Mr. Saakashvili. The fact of the matter is that the citizens of Abkhazia and South Ossetia have been under a de facto independent rule separate from the Georgian State since the early nineties. It just so happens that the interests of the Abkhazians and the South Ossetians -the majority of whom have Russian passports- are more closely aligned with Russia than with the Georgians, who do not respect their separate cultural identity. This is actually quite an understatement, considering that Mr. Saakashvili started this bloody conflict himself by bombing civilians in Tskhinvali in South Ossetia. The Russian counterattack against Georgia to honor its guarantees to those regions, and to protect its citizens in Abkhazia and South Ossetia should be received with praise, not hostility, by the United States. Tell me, what would the United States do if its citizens abroad were being bombed by a bellicose madman like Mr. Saakashvili - a man who spends a fifth of his country's budget on weapons?
I am an American citizen hoping to convince other Americans that our country's position against Russia is, in this case, morally unjustifiable. But morals and ethics notwithstanding, we should not seek to make an enemy of Russia for strategic reasons. We should not push to hard for NATO membership for Georgia or the Ukraine, although we should honor our guarantees to countries -such as Poland- who are already our NATO allies. In any case, Russia is not our enemy. Quite the contrary, our enemy in the coming decades will be a much more dangerous one, an economic dragon with growing ambitions who is starting to bare his fangs in the East. We will need Russia as a friend, to be a bulwark against this potential enemy in the future. The Russians will, in turn, benefit from our friendship. But one does not make friends by telling them how to behave in their own house. Just as no American would like the Russians butting in in our relations with our neighbors, the Russians certainly don't like it when we tell them what to do in their own backyard. And we shouldn't. I believe most of us Americans would agree with that, and Washington should listen. But how is it going to listen if the media start censoring the truth? Sure, there might not be a censor with a red felt tip pen in the control room at FOX News preparing a statement for this young Ossetian-American girl and her aunt -there might not be anyone *telling* them not to talk about how they were suddenly bombed by Georgian troops and managed to arrive safely in the US with the help of the Russian government- but a producer cutting them off by going to commercials is just as bad, if not worse. Shame on our reporters - they can all go to hell. - beebelo, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1Come on, man, The original poster spoke only broken English. That's obvious from the way it's worded.
