- PiGuy, on 11/03/2007, -3/+118He may speak 10 languages, but I, have 5 PS3s.
- wreckosaurus, on 11/02/2007, -1/+51Mandarin is chinese, and I'm pretty sure he's from england.
- Sober, on 11/03/2007, -0/+44Why do we never hear anything about these "Child Geniuses" after they grow up?
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -4/+41I speak Basic, fortran, cobol, c++, c, f#, java, visual basic, alice, HTML, XML, CSS.
I'm smarter than this kid. - CptAmerica, on 11/02/2007, -6/+42I can speak 10 languages. I can say hi in English, German, French, Spanish, 1337, piglatin, Latin, Greek, Portuguese, and Italian:
Hello

hello

In that order. So take that jeenyus kid! - sp89, on 11/02/2007, -1/+30he'll forget them by high school
- inactive, on 11/05/2007, -1/+29Well he's gonna have an easy time getting laid in High School.
- inactive, on 11/02/2007, -1/+27you seem not to be able to speak those 2 languages correctly...
- moocow1452, on 11/01/2007, -1/+25Telepathy folks. If you don't know the word, you obviously aren't that good at reading minds.
- AtomBoyz, on 11/02/2007, -3/+27Geez. What's wrong with me, I can only speak one :)
They say kids can learn languages much easier though. - inertic, on 11/02/2007, -2/+25Genius=you're not getting laid in HS.
- matu4251, on 11/02/2007, -2/+24To his defense, english might not be one of those two!
- sockpuppets, on 11/01/2007, -1/+20This kid's like sylar. That's how he learns new languages, by stealing people's tongues.
- digudown, on 11/05/2007, -0/+19Basic, fortran, COBOL !!! you must be 100 yrs old !!
- capiCrimm, on 11/01/2007, -1/+20all of which are incomprehensible to other 95% of the nation.
- everlaster, on 11/03/2007, -1/+18If I was a genius I would speak 10 languages too...,but I am not.
- kweeky, on 11/01/2007, -3/+18The best part of the article? "Arpan wants to be a surgeon and work in hospitals abroad and speak each country's tongue." A truly amazing individual, and I really hope he goes far in life.
- moocow1452, on 11/02/2007, -0/+14What about a cake?
- jxfallout, on 11/02/2007, -0/+14True, but in this case, he'll be scoring with foreign exchange students left and right.
- Typhoon2009, on 11/06/2007, -1/+14Reminds me of that guy who became fluent in Icelandic in a week D:
- gmprunner, on 11/03/2007, -0/+13He's a linguistic genius, but that doesn't mean he's a genius at everything. Geniuses tend to be very good at certain things, but not particularly exceptional at most of the other stuff.
- TalaBAM, on 11/02/2007, -2/+15I'm not digging you down because you're wrong but because you added a smiley face and a signature to your comment.
- inertic, on 11/02/2007, -2/+14Lack of social skills can severely hinder one. If I had a choice of being a genius in math/science or being extremely charismatic, I would go with the social skills.
- smithpg1002, on 11/02/2007, -0/+12Where'd most of those come from, the Tiger/Leopard intro or Flickr? ;)
- NsinU8, on 11/03/2007, -4/+15This isnt that same kid that only knows how to say "would you like to buy some chicklets or oranges" in 10 languages is it?
- ChromaVita, on 11/01/2007, -1/+11Yea, it's spelt tlhIngan.
- iffypop, on 10/31/2007, -1/+11you would know
- ChromaVita, on 11/03/2007, -0/+10Same here. iay onlyay eakspay ootay anguageslay/
- Wohmfg, on 11/02/2007, -0/+10Yeah but then he can go to 10 other countries and try and get laid
- inactive, on 10/31/2007, -0/+9The kid lives in UK. You really think he can't speak english?
- sockpuppets, on 11/01/2007, -0/+8Telekinesis is the ability to use wireless genesis controllers with your knees. I think the word you're looking for is telepathy.
- stbon, on 11/01/2007, -8/+16yes speech is limited - let's try telekenisis
- sliptech, on 11/06/2007, -0/+8you are pathetic.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -0/+85 Print "Basic is a plague."
10 Beep
15 Beep
20 Goto 5. - Matt-lars, on 10/31/2007, -0/+7Hello in Portuguese is Olá
- bmson, on 11/01/2007, -0/+7His name is Daniel Tammet.
Hann heitir Daniel Tammet. - mattrmcg, on 10/31/2007, -4/+11Hell, if you grow up in New York, you already know how to speak ten dialects
- drakelord, on 11/02/2007, -1/+8Because reporting on adult geniuses is boring. Child geniuses make a story. Same reason people make a big deal out of kids who can draw, play instruments, do awesome math. How often do you hear about an adult who can do those things? Very rarely.
- BossKey, on 10/31/2007, -1/+8It doesn't make you a genius, but it does make you extremely valuable in an international call center.
- known, on 11/01/2007, -0/+6When I was 22 I used to speak 10 "programming" languages.
- inactive, on 10/31/2007, -1/+6That's right CptAmerica you only speak nine now bitch.
- wesd, on 10/31/2007, -0/+5Eunonia - an imaginary language from "Earth: Final Conflict", written by Gene Roddenberry, an American screenwriter who was also, somehow, smart enough to think up Star Trek and Andromeda. Not only is that in no way related to your genius Russian brethren it also further emphasises the phenomenal worldwide creations that English speaking nations are capable of. Hence the Indian TV show prizes being the privilege of studying in the USA, UK or parts of Europe... not Russia.
As a side note, the reason you find English so easy is because you can't actually speak it. Nice try though. - calroot, on 10/31/2007, -0/+5Yeah, I saw a documentary on that guy. He's autistic. That is the reason why he can memorize volumes of information in a short period of time.
- calroot, on 10/31/2007, -0/+5Damn the article was about a boy with mad language skills. That's impressive and positive. Why does everybody gotta go all racial? Calm the freak down.
- bonesbrigade, on 11/02/2007, -1/+6Dugg down for saying 'hyper text markup language' instead of HTML. Trying to add a little flourish I see?
- RockSlice, on 10/31/2007, -0/+5Does nobody realize how easily small children learn languages? If you expose a child to 10 languages on a regular basis, he will learn 10. If 20, then 20. This doesn't make him a genius, it makes him lucky.
- digudown, on 10/31/2007, -0/+5Truck driver ehh!!
- inactive, on 11/05/2007, -0/+5Hi, I'm 10 years old and I can do everything better than you.
- estacado, on 10/31/2007, -0/+5And all he got was a t-shirt.
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -0/+426, almost 27. I started Basic when I was young, with my Apple 2c.
I took up fortran as a hobby, Cobol was because an ex employer used it in their accounting software.. -
