      More accurately, Carbon does not come in molecular units because it is virtually always bonded with other elements or with itself, creating a larger molecule. If Carbon occurred as, say, a monatomic gas like Helium, one might refer to "carbon molecules" the same way one may refer to helium atoms in their natural, monatomic, unbonded, gaseous state as "helium molecules" if one wishes. This would be wrong in the case of organic carbon not because the carbon in question is an element, but because the carbon in question is never monatomic.

Most of what he says is pretty reasonable, but about once a month he says something incredibly stupid. Those comments always make the news and he ends up looking like a complete ass. I'm sure the people here that despise the guy only hear those retarded sound bytes. He has some controversial opinions, but he's far from a piece of crap like Bill O Reilly. This comment just made him look pathetic.

I really don't think you can judge this guy from a 30 second youtube clip. A good percentage of what this guy says is completely tongue in cheek. (He once went on a rant about how Vermont should be ejected from the Union. It was a complete joke, yet some of news media was taking it as a serious statement. Some people just don't get his sarcasm.)
