slowestmanonearth.com — After my video sat on YouTube for a couple months with only a few thousand views it got onto the front page of Digg.com, it recieved a massive amount of views and a few days later I got a call from YouTube and Good Morning America asking if they could put my video on the air. Video, and more info in the link...

- digg it
- dustedbunny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45Awesome, congrats man! I didn't even know ABC did this. Also mad props to Ok, Go! for that music video of theirs (on the treadmills). Ive been seeing it more and more on TV segments like that. :)
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Thanks. Yeah, cograts to all the videos. It's so funny to see some stupid little video you did to make your friends laugh show up on TV and being talked about by respected news anchors. I think Diane Sawyer felt a little uncomfortable laughing at people, she was stone faced the whole time.
- lordthor, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13Hey, congrats. I was on GMA too, but that was for a whole different thing. :P
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13@lordthor
What were you on there for? - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Congrats man, that had to be the best vid on YouTube.
- ActiveMatx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Direct link on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFh8hUUGN84
- elroy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8I was hoping this was the guy who chugged the diet coke and swallowed a handfull of mentos.
BLUUUURGHH!!! Best video ever. - merreborn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19"I didn't even know ABC did this."
As someone who's been on the net for over a decade, it's always a little odd to see things like this, that indicate that the media finally has some sort of grasp on what's going on on the internet.
Just 10 years ago, all news coverage of the 'net was "information superhighway this", and "computer hacker that", and generally completely uninformed. Similarly, the public at large had little to do with the internet.
Now my grandma has a blog. - PaulOwen, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1@elroy

It's rubbish. He doesn't even hurl on camera. I wanted to see projectile vomiting! - attractivetb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I hate the way the host pronounces youTUBE.
She puts the emPHAsis on the wrong sylLABle. - TheFoppishRhino, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1@attractivetb
I just noticed that too! But you beat me to it. - spidoman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8ABC is idiotic, both the Backstreet Boys and Numa Numa video did not start or even make it big because of YouTube. And "The most popular site on the internet"? Just STFU ABC, stick with lost.
Wow, showing the Mom of Croutching Tiger Hidden Dragon and "This is just a typical video you'd find on our site" Wow, way to point out how much crap is actually on your site. - jchri09, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I read somewhere that these guys are paying around a million a month for bandwidth.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?
I love youtube it is a great gift from the Internet Gods.
- hiddi, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4hey congrats!
-enfer- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Centerfuse in the house!
- chthonic, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2centerfuse.
- skOOb33, on 10/12/2007, -19/+3looks like just a plug for the website. should have let them drop your name on air so you could get some chicks...slow chicks.
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10I gave them my name, I thought they would, but they kind of just ran through a bunch of videos. And since it was the first episode of their YouTube feature they had the YouTube guys on which took away from playing most the videos.
- stinknugget, on 10/12/2007, -60/+1Did you ask for money? If not your stupid.
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+53Yeah, I asked for 1 million dollars. And they gave it to me!
- Nessus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+51Idiot. Should have asked for 2.
:) - westwind429, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28His stupid what?
If you're going to call somebody "stupid," I suggest you avoid making any obvious grammatical errors. - Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5No, I don't think it was a grammar error. I think he's trying to create one of those good ol' fashioned reality TV show suspense moments.
*Dramatic Music Plays*
Wait for it...
- syberghost, on 10/12/2007, -26/+1If your name was booble666 I'd care.
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My name is *****, close...
- Araya213, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25She said that the creators were "The men behind the juggernaut". I thought for a second she was talking about the "I'm the jugggernaut BITCH" video.
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1haha, me too
- RichPowers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+32Congrats on getting your video on GMA.
Does anyone else find it funny how the big networks try in vein to embrace all this new-fangled Internet media stuff? Remember back in 2004/2005 how CNN, et al would read blogs over the air? Now ABC is teaming up with YouTube to try and stay "hip" and prove their relevance. Frankly, I watch the TV news for REAL reporting, not stupid ***** from the Internet
no offense to you heysuburbia :)- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22None taken, agree it's a stupid video from the Internet.
- zephc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+34By 2012, all television broadcasts will be pasted-together clips from youtube, which by then will be owned by Microsoft and renamed MS Television XRT Service Pack 9.
- MOJIRA, on 05/17/2008, -1/+10RichPowers, you said exactly what I wanted to. Thank you!
TV news has become a JOKE, it's ridiculous. Just for my own personal research I spent most of the day watching CNN, FOX, MSNBC, & others and I just couldn't take it anymore.
One of the things I saw was that on CNN they have a new thing now call iReport or whatever it is - where they tell you if you take a video or photo(s) of a news story you can send it in and they'll use it. Which seems fine, but if you heard how they described it and the way the explained it to you, you'd vomit; it's just so condescending.
And for god's sake (I'm sure some will disagree) I don't want some hot chick giving me my news and flirting with her co-anchor, I want some old British dude with a scruffy beard and thick glasses who actually wrote the news story!!! - zforrester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Mohanned
Dude, right on. I agree 100%
- xXShadowstormXx, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Pretty ironic that this video is hosted on YouTube.
Congrats man! =)- Namco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10How so?
...oh wait, I get it. That broadcast TV is the lesser medium and that it would need to be posted on You Tube for someone to watch it. Yeah, I get it, ironic.
- Namco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10How so?
- wokethebears, on 10/12/2007, -22/+2does anyone know the name of the song 45 seconds into the video that the fat guy is singing too?
- ChuyMatt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Your Internet User card is revoked.
- zorplex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Are you kidding?
.....
Well, if you weren't, it is "Dragostea Din Tei" by O Zone. Some people know it as "Numa Numa".
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/206373
I don't know why they used it in the Youtube selections as it became famous on other sites first. (If I'm not mistaken...) - Shinta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Dragostea din Tei, by Ozone, if you mean the Numa Numa Dance by Gary Brolsma.
- Rizmaster, on 10/12/2007, -28/+2Why do these morons assume every video is a chink lip synching?
- Apoc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Well that's probably not a racist comment.
- ratsoid, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4yeah... i remember this video :D
good goin' - gosix, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7So in a few weeks there will be an article on Digg:
Digg got my Article, "Digg got my YouTube video on Good Morning America," on Good Morning America!
Sheesh, I hope I said that right.- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21And then I can post another Digg story called:
Good Morning America got my Digg about my Digg Article, "Digg got my YouTube video on Good Morning America," on Good Morning America to the front page of Digg! - xXShadowstormXx, on 10/12/2007, -12/+9Then another person would come up about a week later and submit a story called:
"Good Morning America got my Digg article on my Digg article of my Digg article about a week ago about my YouTube video that was submitted to Digg two weeks ago to Digg.com's video section that was shown live on Good Morning America two weeks ago from Digg.com to Good Morning America that went to the front page of Digg!"
Whew.
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21And then I can post another Digg story called:
- KnightMareInc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3grats
- maddoginthefog, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Wow, the power of Digg!
- Namco, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Traditional media is just paying this phenom lip service because it's relevant. Secretly they hate it and resent having to change their business models. They'll be back to ignoring it soon enough just like how the Internet bubble burst 5 years ago.
- sims, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5It was also just shown in Australia at 30 minutes ago on Channel 7's Sunrise.
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The slowest man on earth video was just shown on Australia TV?
Did you happen to tape it?
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2The slowest man on earth video was just shown on Australia TV?
- bigbird1040, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Freudian slip at 6:00-6:01 into the video...one of the YouTube creators calls something 'black' instead of 'back', but makes no other mistakes during the interview. One of the interviewers is black.
- zforrester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1actually it's black instead of block
kinda funny though
- zforrester, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1actually it's black instead of block
- Amything, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Anyone have URL to that music video with the running machines?
- 0x0000ff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2search for OK GO treadmill on youtube
- heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@Amything
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92IWqopETfI - rayishu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Digg got your video on Digg and thats better than Good Morning America
- davidlow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I thought it was fascinating to see these two interviewers, the two women talking to the creators of YouTube, asking them questions about the "back stories" of some specific videos. As if they have anything to do with the content!
It was all very friendly and entertaining, but those same misconceptions about current internet technology are present in our legislators, and when they draw on those misunderstandings to create misguided laws you have to call it ignorance.
In particular, the idea of holding ISPs responsible for file sharing traffic that goes through their routers, just like holding YouTube responsible for its content, is just plain wrong. In this clip is was the seed to a delightful conversation, but in congress the same wrong ideas put billions of dollars into the wrong hands. - Seumas, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Why was this on Good Morning America? I thought that was supposed to be a morning news show? (I don't watch network television). What exactly is news about a several month old clip of an old man walking?
No wonder I don't watch network television. *yawn* - mapkinase, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Why would anyone who knows what YouTube is would like to wait for every Wednesday's stupid Good morning America while they can watch top YouTube video everyday, well,... on YouTube???
- h00ligan, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2that video was retarded, and you are an ass hole.
begin the down diggs - laughing at ***** old people for moving around.. jesus christ - this country has no hope - hopefully you'll be hit by a car young.- techlinks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Umm...who's laughing...oh, and he tried to help him, the guy cursed him out. AND waved his arms at people!
- h00ligan, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3actually, i have more to add.
DIGG has become as a community a bastion of unreasonably left leaning politically - . Fair use - net neutrality - imposing sanctions - war is bad - aclu - eff - racism bad -etc
However
A guy films a semi disabled subject unknowingly and puts it on the internet for everyone to laugh at - sells stickers and takes donations - is MAKING MONEY from it.. and that's just fine. talk about hypocrisy.
There is absolutely NO different than taking upskirt shots of girls on the street/bus/train and posting them on a pay per use website.
Digg down - it's fine - what i have said is true, and this community is oviously one of hypocrisy.- zforrester, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1". Fair use - net neutrality - imposing sanctions - war is bad - aclu - eff - racism bad -etc"
Since when are these concepts strictly left? Do right wingers endorse racism? War? Not even all republicans have the same stand on net neutrality. I love that. "Racism bad" + "unreasonably left"
The rest of what your saying sounds legit, though, but I'm not well informed enough to correct you or not.
If that's what you consider "unreasonably left," I'd hate to see what you consider just right. - heysuburbia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The shirts, stickers, etc. are a joke.
I haven't made a dime, in fact I've lost money through bandwidth.
There goes your theory, douche.
- zforrester, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1". Fair use - net neutrality - imposing sanctions - war is bad - aclu - eff - racism bad -etc"
- techlinks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-788979531019313304&q=here+it+goes+again
Heres the OKGO video. They have a download on their site, but it's not even 320x240. - ShadySpace, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Fair use - net neutrality - imposing sanctions - war is bad - aclu - eff - racism bad -etc"
How are any of these things bad in the slightest sense? - aznboi04k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1good morning america has ran out of good story and showing internet crap on tv now. that's just great! now where am i going to get my quality news?
- rkef, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Sure the original wasn't 45mins, but actually 10 or 11? Proof: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Gc24n_FfKeQ :D
- EasY_TargeT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ha! Gotta love those Chinese basckstreet boys.

YouTubeRobot.com today announces YouTube Robot 2.0, a tool that enables you to download video from YouTube.com onto your PC, convert it to various formats to watch it when you are on the road on mobile devices like mobile phone, iPod, iPhone, Pocket PC, PSP, or Zune.
YouTube Robot allows you to search for videos using keywords or browse video by category, author, channel, language, tags, etc. When you find something noteworthy, you can preview the video right in YouTube Robot and then download it onto the hard disk drive. The speed, at which you will be downloading, is very high: up to 5 times faster than other software when you download a single file and up to 4 times faster when you download multiple files at a time.
Manual download is not the only option with YouTube Robot. You may as well schedule the download and conversion tasks to be executed automatically, even when you are not around. Downloading is followed by conversion to the format of your choice and uploading videos to a mobile device (if needed). For example, you can plug in iPod, select the video, go to bed, and when you wake up next morning, your iPod will be ready to play new YouTube videos.
