        I had the sega CD, waste of money, except for ThunderHawk....awesome for its time.....
        • Godlike, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1Well there are two ways to look at it, one is that Sega offered a new platform (32x) with a lesser cost than buying a whole new console (but I remember thinking at the time that it was prohibitively expensive, though I do not recall the price), and the other way to look at it is that Sega decided to make a very minor shift in programming style in order to force consumers that wanted access to those games to purchase an accessory.

          It's up to you to decide what you think; at the time I wasn't much interested because my friend had both and LOL, 'Night Trap' looked kindof cool but was not very playable. (though that was a CD game)

      Also, Fairchild Channel F which was the first cartridge system. Vectrex is missing.

      There are several others missing and some of the stuff that is thrown in there is really rehashed versions of other consoles like the PSOne and the slimline PS2.

      Also, some of it is out of order, and the 2600 they showed was a very late model. Most people remember the wood grained model and also it was originally called the VCS, not the 2600. They didn't come up with 2600 until the 5200 shipped and I don't remember many people in the 80s ever referring to it as the 2600, only as the VCS. I didn't commonly hear people say 2600 until the 90s.

I also remember around 3 other systems that weren’t even on the video, Philips CD-i player since it isn't mentioned yet. That's not counting the top loading NES or the original Familycom version (Sega CD & 32x already mentioned).

    It might surprise people to know that a Magnavox engineer was the first person to make home video games. Nintendo & Sega both had to even pay Magnavox patent royalties.

    b) whats with including some video games from the arcade? isnt this supposed to be about consoles, stuff in the house?

    c) whats with the photos? why bother creating a video of still images?

    d) inaccurate labeling (it's a Wii not a Revolution)

    e) if you're gonna call it a timeline then you better damn well include dates or at least years.

    Lame. which is sad cause I was looking forward to some cool scenes of excitebike or tempest or moon buggy
