- badqat, on 10/17/2007, -1/+1And what "facts" did you glean from this horrid "video"?

It was a bit long i Dugg it tho- wattznext, on 10/18/2007, -1/+9RTFA

- PRlME, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1Push the power button the you get white screen then you hear
- Deomonte21, on 10/18/2007, -4/+14Tons of systems. Very complete list. There were only a few I owned in the past I didn't see on there
Atari 800- This may have been considered more of a personal computer though
Sega CD
Sega 32x- Kronos6948, on 10/18/2007, -0/+4Allow me to add Vectrex and 3DO to that list.
- tyns, on 10/18/2007, -0/+6Intellivision?
- KMye, on 10/18/2007, -0/+4No TurboGrafix or TurboExpress either...
- funktimus, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1demand bonks.. and his adventure!
- astrosmash, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1The three heavyweights of the 1st-gen consoles were Atari 2600, Intellivision, and Colecovision. They missed the last two completely, and showed the wrong picture of the 2600.
- tyns, on 10/18/2007, -0/+6Intellivision?
- Godlike, on 10/17/2007, -0/+2CD and 32x were addons for the genesis
- ilikechaitea, on 10/17/2007, -0/+0but still dude, I reckon they should have been added. They were kinda consoles in their own right, albeit weird add-on ones. Like the sega CD, essentially a different machine, different hardware, different game formats. Same goes for 32x....
I had the sega CD, waste of money, except for ThunderHawk....awesome for its time.....- Godlike, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1Well there are two ways to look at it, one is that Sega offered a new platform (32x) with a lesser cost than buying a whole new console (but I remember thinking at the time that it was prohibitively expensive, though I do not recall the price), and the other way to look at it is that Sega decided to make a very minor shift in programming style in order to force consumers that wanted access to those games to purchase an accessory.
It's up to you to decide what you think; at the time I wasn't much interested because my friend had both and LOL, 'Night Trap' looked kindof cool but was not very playable. (though that was a CD game)

- werther138, on 10/18/2007, -0/+3I had the Coleco Vision with the Atari add on. Though there was a Coleco on the list it was not the one I had.
- Section1, on 10/18/2007, -0/+1Nobody knows what I am talking about when I say I had this. Finally I know I didn't imagine it!
- astrosmash, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1Between my friend and me we had the Coleco Adam Computer expansion module, Roller Controller, Turbo steering wheel, Rocky Sports controller and Atari module. And together we ruled the neighborhood.
- DaveMode, on 10/18/2007, -0/+6Biggest omissions I noticed were:
- Collecovision
- Turbografix 16
- 3DO- hessamz, on 10/18/2007, -0/+2Yea Turbografix 16! Brings back memories... great console until it died.
- ReRush, on 10/18/2007, -0/+3What about the Intellivision? Or dare I say... the Ngage?
- Cerberus047, on 10/18/2007, -0/+3Also missing Phillips CD-i
- BestJaxx, on 10/17/2007, -0/+2Did anyone know what the ***** the playstationx or whatever it was actually is?
- Kronos6948, on 10/18/2007, -0/+4Allow me to add Vectrex and 3DO to that list.
- pimpinaintez, on 10/18/2007, -6/+2Nice, always love to see where games have come from
- oboredone, on 10/18/2007, -5/+10Sephiroth! FF7 had a great soundtrack.
I feel rather dorkish for remembering that....- noahtron, on 10/23/2007, -0/+4its cool - that was my first thought too!
- hoovcluck, on 10/19/2007, -2/+1Yeah boooooooooooooyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
- BestJaxx, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1I wondered where I heard that music before, even if you just hear it for a second it is stuck in your memory forever.
- DiggerRich, on 10/17/2007, -9/+2Did I see that the PSX actually supported HD-DVD's? If so, I don't remember reading about that.
- Vulphaestion, on 10/20/2007, -1/+6You probably saw HDD, which is the hard drive.
- Godlike, on 10/20/2007, -2/+2LOL How the hell would that even be possible?
- Camphlobactor, on 10/18/2007, -1/+28Direct link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2tBP9mm218&eurl=
- wattznext, on 10/17/2007, -6/+4Awesome video! The music made me feel very apprehensive though.
- jaycie, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1Yeah, this guy is obviously a FF7 fan. I love the song but felt that it was kind of a weird choice here. Oh well. lol.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3XdWVHn_9I - astrosmash, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1Both videos ended with the best system. That's nice.
- Halfling64, on 10/18/2007, -5/+1Another FUBAR link....
For me anyways.
Digg.com seems to be full of more bad links lately.- Halfling64, on 10/18/2007, -2/+1Forget it.
It's running now.
- Halfling64, on 10/18/2007, -2/+1Forget it.
- Switchnig, on 10/17/2007, -6/+1ROCK AND ROLL MCDONALDS
- Kyle0wnsyou, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1Probably the only time I'll listen to Final Fantasy VII music for it's entire duration.
- g2g079, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1What? You gotta watch FF7: Advent Children. Great flick and CGI. Sadly enough I have fanfare (the song when you win a battle , dadada da da da da dada) play whenever I get messages on my phone.
- kylebox, on 10/17/2007, -2/+8One Winged Angel = Auto Digg
- spudnic, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1As much as I love how the midi style version reminds me of playing ff7, heres a version performed by a full orchestra

- Darthyoshiboy, on 10/19/2007, -2/+35What in the hell? the "Nintendo Revolution" (Just a bit dated here)? Complete lack of the CDI, the TurboGraphix, 3DO, and I'm sure countless others if you're going to include the "Atari Flashback". Take this with a grain of salt.
- monkeytom888, on 10/18/2007, -0/+2mega CD, DS Lite, PSP Slim
Anyone else?
I grew up with the C64 and Spectrum, I know they were not consoles as such, but their main use were games :o)
- monkeytom888, on 10/18/2007, -0/+2mega CD, DS Lite, PSP Slim
- imbob, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1wow seing all that makes wanna play me some nintendo^^
- merbot, on 10/17/2007, -3/+5where the hell is the NGage
- johnkyoungoh, on 10/18/2007, -1/+17In the trash.
- MackPrime, on 10/18/2007, -1/+20What's the point of a video if its' just a slew of images. I'd rather be able to scroll than hear neckbeard symphonies.
- dephrye, on 10/17/2007, -3/+2WTH? How did this make the front page? Nice tune tho, made me think of the remix ( http://tinyurl.com/2k3udd )
- Jeffler, on 10/17/2007, -5/+1You know you've too much of your life on games when you recognize every system there..
- xsquirrel378x, on 10/21/2007, -1/+1you know youre a poser if dont know all those systems and all the ones that were missing as well
- Jeffler, on 10/18/2007, -1/+1Damn. I screwed up my wording bad...
What I meant was...
I know I feel like a loser for knowing every single one. AND screwing up my previous comment. =P
- Penmaton, on 10/19/2007, -0/+5Its missing other consoles yet added some I have never seen before. I was expecting more of a real Time line, not just pictures of consoles... Not worth a digg...
- DaleoftheUK, on 10/17/2007, -0/+2Where the Amiga's!? They were in there with the other systems for gaming.
Still good work on getting the console he/she (likely he) did, unless they just went onto wikipedia and basically had the list there under "games consoles". - pcslugster, on 10/17/2007, -1/+1no sega cd or 32x and its wii not revolution...
- zomgwaffles, on 10/17/2007, -0/+0i was thinking the same thing but arent sega cd and 32x just add on peices to the console, granted it did allow you to play different games.
- zomgwaffles, on 10/17/2007, -1/+0wow, video was from august and its already outdated, the psp lite & slim came out
- bingobongony, on 10/17/2007, -0/+0The video was obviously from over a YEAR ago, seeing as the Wii has been out for 11 months now, and it has been known to be the Wii for longer than that.
I see what you did...you do realize it is 2007, don't you?
- bingobongony, on 10/17/2007, -0/+0The video was obviously from over a YEAR ago, seeing as the Wii has been out for 11 months now, and it has been known to be the Wii for longer than that.
- SunDestroyer, on 10/17/2007, -0/+2Adding the dates of release along with the names would have been nice.
Dugg regardless.- bingobongony, on 10/18/2007, -0/+4if they did that we would be able to tell that they had the order of some mixed up
- waterdrop, on 10/18/2007, -0/+8Uh since when did the Sega Saturn come out after the Sony Playstation?
This ain't much of a timeline.- damright22, on 10/17/2007, -0/+0ya there was a lot of mistakes in the video.
- anononon, on 10/21/2007, -0/+25Fail for incomplete research. Intellivision and Colecovision are missing. Also, Atari400 was not a video game console.
F-
See me after class.- joltjake, on 10/19/2007, -0/+1An F-..........yeah, because that even exists.
- frostieDude, on 10/21/2007, -0/+1Not to mention Home Pong!!!
Also, Fairchild Channel F which was the first cartridge system. Vectrex is missing.
There are several others missing and some of the stuff that is thrown in there is really rehashed versions of other consoles like the PSOne and the slimline PS2.
Also, some of it is out of order, and the 2600 they showed was a very late model. Most people remember the wood grained model and also it was originally called the VCS, not the 2600. They didn't come up with 2600 until the 5200 shipped and I don't remember many people in the 80s ever referring to it as the 2600, only as the VCS. I didn't commonly hear people say 2600 until the 90s.
- BigRiggy, on 10/18/2007, -1/+2Missed the Turbo Xpress as well
- KMye, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1I think it's youngin's digging you down...
- NightOwl4, on 10/17/2007, -6/+1will they blend?
- Jukey, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1that IS the question
- drizzy91, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1the old school game system cost so much back then and just look at the graphics
- bingobongony, on 10/17/2007, -4/+11. Annoying music, like with all Youtube videos. (If you think movies and TV are bad now, wait till these Youtube kids enter the inudstry if they think that this is audio editing.)
2. Why do they randomly include a few arcade cabinets in there?
3. Bally Magnavox?
4. Even worse than the Bally...Colecovision?- Julz, on 10/17/2007, -0/+3umm that "annoying music" from this video is from one of the greatest games of all time... Final Fantasy VII
- bingobongony, on 10/18/2007, -3/+2Yeah, so? Music from video games is annoying music.
- Julz, on 10/17/2007, -0/+3umm that "annoying music" from this video is from one of the greatest games of all time... Final Fantasy VII
- DarkShroud, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1That was a nice trip down memory lane. I'm such a nerd that I remember all of those. I also remember around 3 other systems that weren’t even on the video, Philips CD-i player since it isn't mentioned yet. That's not counting the top loading NES or the original Familycom version (Sega CD & 32x already mentioned).
It might surprise people to know that a Magnavox engineer was the first person to make home video games. Nintendo & Sega both had to even pay Magnavox patent royalties. - AZooYorkMystery, on 10/18/2007, -0/+5I don't need to watch this to realize that it's going to be longer than I have patience for.
Why would you make this video when you could make an actual timeline? - Getintothegame, on 10/17/2007, -0/+2Wait, wasn't that Carmina Burana and Final Fantasy combined?
- Julz, on 10/18/2007, -0/+8I was waiting for the DS Lite to show up, but it didn't... :(
- 2Deluxe, on 10/18/2007, -2/+1Want a cookie?
- bdlang, on 10/18/2007, -0/+5OMG the Sega GameGear! I still think that was the best handheld system I've ever owned.
Couldn't find a 'real' 2600 pic? - uremomsnitemare, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1what are video games?
- xsquirrel378x, on 10/17/2007, -0/+13DO, intellivision, rca studio, phillips cd-i, amiga CDTV and arcadia 2001 were missing.
FAIL - joshtj, on 10/19/2007, -0/+7Wikipedia 'video game consoles'.
Google image search (console name) .
Open Windows Movie Maker.
Add annoyingly long introduction text to each console.
Add game-related mp3.
Voila! - Chiwawa, on 10/18/2007, -1/+1yeah I thought the same thing about the 3DO and intellivision, I played those a lot more than some of the populars one lol
- Synthesize, on 10/17/2007, -1/+4Dugg for the FFVII music.
- DrGamez, on 10/19/2007, -0/+4buried for the same reason!
- Corbomight, on 10/17/2007, -0/+2Very...incomplete list. It has about half of what there really is. And why did the Saturn have an unofficial controller? And why show the Master System 2, which didn't see much production outside of Brazil, instead of the original (very wide) Master System?
- sambapati87, on 10/17/2007, -0/+6I absolutely cannot stand Microsoft™ Windows™ Movie Maker™ youtube videos.
- giveer, on 10/19/2007, -0/+5For something called a "timeline" - there sure seems to be an extreme lack of... y'know... dates and umm, well, Times.
- gavintlgold, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1Hey, can someone tell me how to remove the white border from youtube embedded videos? this one doesn't have one... Thanks. (no need to be non-technical)
Edit: found it.
Add: param name="wmode" value="transparent" (with the slanty brackets) ... Good to know. - dakilla91, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1I don't remember Playstation X?
- ilikechaitea, on 10/17/2007, -0/+0I remember it being called PSX before it came out I think......
- teamgwho, on 10/17/2007, -2/+2dugg down for many reasons including
a) being woefully incomplete. Wheres the fairchild? the sega master system II? (here's an almsot complete list off wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_game_co ...
b) whats with including some video games from the arcade? isnt this supposed to be about consoles, stuff in the house?
c) whats with the photos? why bother creating a video of still images?
d) inaccurate labeling (it's a Wii not a Revolution)
e) if you're gonna call it a timeline then you better damn well include dates or at least years.
Lame. which is sad cause I was looking forward to some cool scenes of excitebike or tempest or moon buggy - ll8enny, on 10/17/2007, -1/+0What of the Sega Megadrive, the only console i ever owned.
- erad222, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1The Sega Megadrive is the Sega Genesis. Obviously you're from outside the US.
