- 1585 diggs
- digg it
- OOTay, on 10/12/2007, -16/+17Hanso and Lost just confuse the hell out of me..
- msbeckman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34 I am pretty sure that this video is revealing that the "others" are actually the people being briefed...
- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+72Holy *****. Thanks for the frontpage. :|
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38... no, thank you for the video
- egrabosky, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17It cant be the others. These videos are taking place in real time, 2006, the show is a few years behind. Although that would be cool.
- TomP, on 10/12/2007, -24/+2Timdorr my web host :D - http://www.asmallorange.com
- Tom ! http://www.tomwrote.info - zirtbow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Didn't we have some vague idea that the 'others' were the people from the hatch/experiments when you found out that the leader guy (I can't remember his name) for the others was actually the original man pushing the button? At least thats the way I took that from the show...
- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Actually, we do not know who the leader of The Others is. In fact, we do not even know if The Others are a part of the DHARMA Initiative. It's been heavily implied, but there's no direct evidence as of yet. More info on them: http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Others
- danmac, on 10/12/2007, -3/+66Some friends of mine checked out the set of lost earlier today, and stole food with the Dharma Initiative logo on it http://www.flickr.com/photos/uscfan/sets/72157594252842121/
- Linkage155, on 10/12/2007, -106/+2You seriosly need a diet dude;
- dontbejack, on 10/12/2007, -7/+33Linkage: You spend all day on digg. Do you think you're any better?
- estacado, on 10/12/2007, -34/+5You're not Hurley, are you?
- mrpizza, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Set looks unattended...Were there any people there? or can anyone just go and vandalize the place??
- mongrel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8No, that's just more viral marketing, there's no such things as "leaks" anymore that don't come from the FCC.
- 0gleth0rpe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1well at any rate it looks like a nice way to spend an afternoon
- ramsinks.com, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1would be nice if the pics were real.
- danmac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The set was totally unattended, and btw I wasn't there those picks are not of me (this is my friends flickr account) just some friends of mine (was working when they decided to go). This set is at police beach in Haleiwa Hawaii.
- NateFishler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3For all of you fools that think these pics are fake ***** off. We passed a cop sleeping in his car on the way out. For all of those who tell us we're uncool for taking a look around get real: you would have done the same thing - I promise. Imagine walking down the beach and seeing sawyer's tent and eko's church... Hello?!
Live the dream.
- playedalive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9how did they get a tour of the set?
- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10It's not a tour of the set. It's part of The Lost Experience. Check out this for a good recap of what's going on: http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=53316
- playedalive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Ive been following the whole thing, but how did they get on the set in the first place?
- danmac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Lost doesn't own the beach. All beaches on Oahu are state property and are publicly accessible.
- whalesalad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Haha we weren't part of any Lost Experience, do i need to video tape it next time? jeez.
- kendawg, on 10/12/2007, -28/+8Am I the only one that has watched both seasons of Lost and have no idea what this hanso thing is?
- msbeckman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25umm yes? Its the foundation running the island... they're the ones who provide them with food and put them there.
- kendawg, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4well yeah...but I mean the website and the video of a guy who has never been on the show...who is making this stuff?
- ductions, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanso
- Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Pretty much, you must have missed a majority of the MAJOR episodes. They'll contain the 'instructional' videos and stuff, produced by the Hanso Foundation.
- kendawg, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5this guy wasn't in those videos....it was someone else. are these clips made up by people with too much time on their hands?
- jackarmstrong, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17No no no, this was put together by the people who made Lost as a way to keep us entertained over the summer and learn a little more about the core of the show. However, they have explicitly stated that if you watch the show and do not hear about this stuff over the summer, it won't impact the show. In a way, it's a separate storyline about the same storyline.
Also, they plan to reveal, through this online thing, the meaning of the Numbers. 4 8 15 16 23 42. Don't know when that will happen though... in the meantime, this just tells you all about the company that put the 'stations' on the island in lost... the hatch, etc. It's also who the "others" work/worked for.
Hope that helps :) - ilyag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35kendawg:
The production company that makes the "Lost" television series is running an online scavenger hunt game to help promote the show and encourage the growth of the online fan community. These video clips are the "prizes" that you find in the scavenger hunt game. This guy found them all, and assembled them into one single movie and posted it on YouTube.
In the fictional universe of "Lost", the Hanso Foundation is the fictional research company that built the hatches on the island, but if you watch the show, you realize that they reveal very little about what the Hanso Foundation is. This online game is essentially giving the fans some hints on the background of this fictional company.
The major storyline for this online game, told through fictional blog entries, numerous websites operated by ABC (the TV network that produces "Lost"), and these video clips, tell the story of an intrepid female computer hacker named Rachel Blake, who strives to expose Hanso Foundation as "evil" and essentially tries to warn everyone that they are not who they claim they are.
Aside from this online game, the production company of "Lost" has also published several novels that, while they do not relate to the main storyline of the show, seem to take place in the same fictional universe, and therefore give the fans some more little hints about some of the mysteries of "Lost" that are not explicitly stated on the show itself.
Of course, almost all of this is fairly unimportant to what goes on on the actual TV show, it's only purpose is to fill very tiny holes in the bigger mysteries of the "Lost" storyline. Therefore, if you do not take part in this game, or have any knowledge of what's revealed in it or the books or anything else, this won't impact your understanding of the TV show. This is just extra stuff to entertain the dedicated fans. - tdogg241, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7kendawg:

The videos are part of the game. - kendawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5ah ok thanks for the info guys
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Hanso website has been "hacked". no doubt because Season 3 is approaching.

Enjoy
- georjyporjie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10that is a lot of collecting and splicing...
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2Educational Videos? Really?
- dontbejack, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4It's not all that hard to piece all the parts together...
and find the codes. They're posted all over the place.- themarq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22No, it's not that hard, but this guy actually did it, and I thank him for it. Saves me the trouble of all that tedious websurfing around. Seeing all those vids in order was great.
- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Nope, I don't think it's hard to do. What *is* hard to do is decoding the VP6-encoded FLV files, and getting rid of the 2-3 frame audio drops at the beginning and ending of each fragment. I've got to go back and work on the section at the very beginning, but the rest should all be blip-free. That's the hard part ;)
- MaXy42, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Hmmm... He doesnt sound Danish? He was supposed to be danish... But he doesnt sound Danish...
- ilyag, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23You're a danish.
- bering, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5I'm Danish
- NumbCore, on 10/12/2007, -18/+3I always wanted to watch LOST, but I am a busy kid with after school activities and stuff.
I need to get DVR.- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8you have after school activities at 9 pm?
- Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Thats what BitTorrent is for!
- DrewBlood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2NumbCore: http://www.bittorrent.com
TenebrousX: I remember missing a lot of the X-Files early seasons because I had football games those nights. - wilsonics, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2uTorrent! http://www.utorrent.com and http://www.isohunt.com are your friends.
Be well. Be lost.
- Mace86, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3here is a great web sight with lots of little things about LOST you might have missed, it also has a cool theam.
http://www.hanttula.com/projects/lost- spiffyfitz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Those are some pretty hefty typos. Thanks for the link, though :)
- seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Its not a "theam", its a layout.
- yomammary, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4I love you.
- ventro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3He spliced the clips in a slightly incorrect order, but still, good work.
- ArrEmmDee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Sri_Lanka_Video
This guy did a really good job, but that link is going to be outdated about 17 times over once all is said and done. You're best off checking the Wiki solely dedicated to this stuff. - ninezero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm not so sure he sounded Danish at all... there were a few times that I could barely make out his words...
- pcheaven2k, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Can someone please post a direct link to the video....I am using Firefox 1.5.06 on PCLinuxOS 0.93a and everytime I open that damn link Firefox just shuts down.....WTF!
- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That is a direct link to the Video. It's on YouTube.
- pcheaven2k, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3That is not a link to the video, it is a link to a page n Youtube that plays the video.....I want a link to the actual video file
- neave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Try this dude: http://www.youtube.com/v/oWn7E4dKOyU
it's not the original movie file but it might work better for ya - pcheaven2k, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Nope, sorry! That one won't even load at all it gets to 67% and freezes. I can open the original link in Konqueror but it only plays sound with a blank grey screen....ARGH!
- blapierre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7You need a new OS/Browser then sir.
- Virion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1N/M, seemed you figured it out below in a completely different post/thread.
- pcheaven2k, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Well I sorta figured out the problem....The video player on YouTube is Macromedia Flash Player and they are using version 8 or newer. I am on Linux and Macromedia has only released version 7 for Linux......NOW WHAT?
- seventoes, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7switch to windows for 5 minutes. I know it hurts, just bear with it.
- pcheaven2k, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I don't think so! I found a solution.....WINE + IE6 + Flash9 = WATCHED VIDEO! WOOHOO!
Now if I could just figure out how to set Firefox to automatically open links to Youtube in IE6 I would be all set....LOL - Arkz, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Use a windows machine? all you Linux users may hate windows but lets face it.. its better... buggy and crap.. but far more stuff works for it...Linux is like Mac, in that 99% of software doesn't work for it cause its made for win32, although there's quite a few games that work on Mac so... gotta give em that... wait why am i talking about this here? ...neg mod time! :D
- Arkz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1GAH! hate it when that happens, i responded and there was no comments.. now theres 2.. 3.. 4 counting this... erm.. anyway, pcheaven2k- Try an extention called IE Tab 1.0.9.5
- Glugory, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Yeah, I mean, why would you want to use Windows for 5 minutes? So that you can actually experience an OS that is *GASP* compatible with *****? Damn, it's scary using an OS that people actually code ***** for. It's okay, you just stay in your safe little box where nothing works.
- Virion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How would IETab work in Linux? It requires IE and is intended for Windows, as far as I know.
- Arkz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i wasnt paying much attention :p but he said he was using wine, therefore windows on linux... altho ff would view em fine in windows... i know what he meant now... i just hadnt had coffee yet when i replied
- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Linux is like Mac, in that 99% of software doesn't work for it cause its made for win32"
That's the stupidest ***** I've ever heard. Windows doesn't have 99% of the software out there, and even if it did, it's mostly crap. With the exception of some rare applications, my Mac does everything my Windows PC does. In fact, I commonly use my Mac over my PC because there are many things that don't exist for Windows (Quicksilver comes to mind).
- llnk, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2han solo?
- ramsinks.com, on 10/12/2007, -8/+224>
- chancesarent, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1+Digg for the DIGG video thumbnail of the guy with the beard making the 'OH!' face!
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I have a question.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_tv
The Wikipedia article cays the 1080i version of Lost on TV is only in the UK while its 720p in the US. I got my HDTV this summer. Was wanting to know. Will I get 1080i or 720p video from FiOS?
Thanks- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ABC broadcasts in 720p, so it should come in at that res for Verizon, too.
- JohnCrichton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1One quick questions, why does the fat guy never lose any weight? I mean seriously they have been on the island for awhile now and he hasn't dropped pounds yet, what is up with that.
- Virion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They've shown him eating as a way to cope, for one (has a secret stash of food), and also hasn't it been more like roughly two months? Between the passed time and the stash I could see him not losing much.
- Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually its only been 50 or so days.
- omnithought, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2You know, I really dug the show until the last couple of episodes. The writers should just admit that they don't know where the hell they're supposed to take things and let it drop.
- Elephant789, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Actually, the story is already written for seven seasons.
- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Where'd you pull that from? They say that want 4 seasons. They might be able to do 5, but they really want 4 and to have a movie afterwards. It's in the Comic-Con Lost panel, if you need a reference. Check the podcast: http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/podcasts/111248.html
- omnithought, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Elephant789
Sorry, bro, I just don't buy it. - Elephant789, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not sure where I heard it. It was a while ago, at the start of season two. They might have changed it so that they have something left for the movie that was just mentioned.
- dioscaido, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0hansoexposed.com is not affiliated with ABC (check WHOIS). Nice amateur video, though.
- FcukDt7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_Experience
- Computer_Kid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just listen to the music, would you trust an orientation video with that kind of music?
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2yeah i have no idea what's goin on...
- taitacakes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0A thought to ponder for those who call this a fake, by saying there is no WHOIS correlation:
www.abc.com - the ABC homepage of course [registrar Network Solutions]
www.hansoexposed.com - the claimed website [registrar Register.com] - wow, they're different.
But note, www.oceanic-air.com [a well known 'secret' website, which is definitely from the 'Lost' group] is registered to neither registering services, instead registered to a Tucows company. I spose you guys didn't think that ABC and the production groups arn't the same, either. The Lost crew may have taken it upon themselves to register the domain, irregardless of ABC.
Then again, my WHOIS n00bness may mean I am completely wrong all together :)- taitacakes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Follow up: Okay, so maybe I was completely wrong. The hansoexposed domain is registered to a specific PO BOX in CA, and not to the ABC corperation like both ABC and Oceanic-Air, but the point is maintained, elaborate hoax, or is it the affect they were after.
Remember that this is a domain 'registered' by a single 'fleeing' 'escapee', Rachel Blake, to 'expose' the Hanso corp and its problems.
