- Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12That's been running in Europe (UK & Ireland) for about two months now.
- apotropaic, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23Thanks for the link... why can't people just digg straight to the source?
- Yez70, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14I want glass bottles back!!!
(and not the ones from Mexico) - dongiaconia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19Are you crazy? The Coke in bottles from Mexico is far better than domestically produced Coca-Cola. Since most other countries don't have an over-abundance of corn, Coca-Cola from Mexico uses real sugar as the sweetener. Here we use crappy ass corn syrup. Thank you corn...
- tciny, on 10/12/2007, -15/+10Really cool ad; yet unfortunately doesn't change the fact that it tastes like crap and is unhealthy as hell.
- account, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7When I read "I want glass bottles back!", I first thought of Germany. In May, I had the opportunity to go to Germany and one thing I noticed during my visit was that glass coke bottles were available. Then as I watched the video clip closer, I noticed that when the man walks up to the coke machine, it doesn't look like America behind him. Also, it looks like he puts in a Euro coin in the machine. And considering the fact the Coca-Cola makes nothing but stupid comercials, except this one, I would say this commercial was created in Europe.
- giandrea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The coin in the video is not an euro coin, there are no silver euro coins (only the 1 and 2 euro coins is partially silver), but I agree that the place looks like good old Europe :)
- qwertydvorak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3DONGIACONIA: Don't thank corn or an over abundance of it, thank the US govt for sugar tariffs that drive up the cost of sugar in this country, that and maybe corporate greed (corn syrup is cheaper because of the tariffs) or maybe us cheap Americans. it is one of the two, but definitely because of the domestic sugar producers greed also. also the same reason Brazil uses sugar for ethanol but we use corn......
- Livewire, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2a bit better quality and direct from Psyop
www.psyop.tv/cocacola - foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -8/+4If Coke took that long to come out, I would never use a coke machine again.
Also, i bet after seeing this ad, Kids think this actually happens inside a coke machine again - streetblader, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1mm pritty cool.
- alej744, on 10/12/2007, -9/+8"Really cool ad; yet unfortunately doesn't change the fact that it tastes like crap and is unhealthy as hell."
How can you say that? Coke is awesome and nobody gives a ***** if it's bad for you. Your opinion sucks. - pwill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5since when does coke cost a quarter?
- da_bradler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I THOUGHT I heard fireworks last time I got a coke!!
- Seumas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@alej744
Once you've had soda in another country, you really can't ever call anything in the US "good".
Seriously, if you tried Coke -- or even better, Dr Pepper! -- with _real_ sugar, you would be hesitant to even call American soda "soda".
- homestar14, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23Wow. That was one of the better and more creative commercials I've seen in a while. If more commercials were like this, I might not mind them interrupting my shows.
- piesforyou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17I'd mind after the 20th or so time.
- etruscan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I have to agree. I generally don't Digg video links like this, but I've gotta give kudos to the design team who thought up and created this commercial... it's very clever.
- homestar14, on 10/12/2007, -25/+2argh, accidentally clicked submit twice! bury.
- twe4ked, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There should be a delete button next to the edit button that is also only editable for 3 mins
- jsd8cc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26What if Tim Burton did commercials...
- piesforyou, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6That's the very same name that came to mind when I saw this.
- dongiaconia, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Unfortunately Danny Elfman could not be reached for comment...
- sion2119, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Holy Crap, I need to drink a Coke now....
- theLEGENDisBACK, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Wow one of the most innovative commercials ive seen in years...
- Ayavaron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9The fact this makes the front page of Digg really shows that creative and interesting advertisements are effective. It's really cool that ads are entertaining these days. It makes you watch them voluntarily. In the most optimistic scenario, this would rejuvenate the ad industry with lots of talented people and the ads would be more fun to watch. Win win for all.
- ddizzle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7fantastic animation...nice to see their giant advert budget spent on something cool!
- ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -8/+8Is it... AMAZINGLY amazing?
- Flashman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It IS! AMAZING!
- vandread, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1awesome.
- 0siris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I definately enjoyed that, and if i didnt already drink coke over pepsi, id start because of that.
- jb978, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1pepsi sucks!
- iparker, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Very creative :o)
- iparker, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Very creative :o)
- drunkjack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Now, if only they'd stop poisoning me with High Fructrose Corn Syrup.
Seriously, I love my soft drinks as much as I love my alcohol, and I'd gladly pay the few dimes extra to get cane sugar in my cola again, but until they stop using that ***** and ***** with my body, I'll stick to water. And whiskey.- Baryn, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3The demons of high fructose corn syrup are largely sensationalized X-/
- sonick, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Your comment suits your name quite well.
- david76, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You can thank import tariffs on sugar for the use of high fructose corn syrup.
Here's some additional information on the impact of sugar tariffs:

- vvargoal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Poor snowmen...
- Aratsu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Damnit; That makes me feel bad about drinking this Pepsi. Should remember to tell the convenience store down the street to GFY and start stocking Coke products.
- GUESShimself, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8after all that and the soda didn't even explode in the guy's face. i'm impressed!
- sremick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Just goes to show you where your money goes with soft drinks:
$0.01 for the water
$0.01 for the ingredients
$1.98 for the advertising- markperia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9no, another $0.01 of that goes to those tiny little workers they have inside the vending machines. So that leaves $1.97 to the ad agencies.
- SlappyMc, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9That is NOT what happens..
- nox327, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_kZPEy3h4I
This one pretty cool, The endless battle between coke and pepsi- Drone007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7That's very cool and made me laugh! Shame it was banned.
- Seddon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4That's a class advert. Better than the one linked to at the top.
- CharlesMay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm not a Pepsi drinker, but this is by far one of the greatest ones in the Coke vs Pepsi battles.
- ArthurSucks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1PWNED!
- tanveer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2for every pespi, there're two coke being sold...hence coke made more money in that commercial...isn't that kinda ironic?
- drgordonfreeman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No, although it is coincidental.
- abaybas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3what a wonderful magical little world working so hard! it's almost worth the diabetes and the cancer! yay! :D
oh, of course I drink coke. duh. - cklol, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Kinda lame...neat art idea though. It's still an advertisment.
-cklol- fahimi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yeah, and the ad agency that did this is from Amsterdam, so more evidence for the European setting.
- fahimi, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1So I tried to delete that comment. Sorry. Bury these both.
- edto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3where can I find a glass coke dispenser like that off 1 coin.
- account, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you look closely as the man approaches the machine, the buildings behind him arn't American. They are European. Also push pause as the coin is inserted in the machine, its a Euro... I think.
- fahimi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, and the ad agency that made this is from Amsterdam, so there's more evidence of the European setting and coin.
- alej744, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Its a quarter
- fahimi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2No, it's not, alej. The coin has a woman and small raised dots on it. George Washington is not a woman, sorry.
A still of the coin:

- Drone007, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I find it interesting that they don't put a screw lid on the bottle, and the bottle that comes out doesn't have one, yet he manages to open the bottle to start drinking fairly quickly and easily.
- JurneyAhed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I find it interesting that you're actually trying to apply realism to that advert
;o) - gfixler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I find it interesting that Snarlbads (the purple things that fly the empty bottle past the waterfall) and the Poofblatts (white things that sucker onto the bottle) could work together like this. It's total bull. Their races have been mortal enemies since The Splitting. They wouldn't work together. They'd be locked in razor tooth vs. poison spore darts battle, killing every other creature in there along the way. That alone should've told you this was all fake. It's probably CGI, or some kinda camera trickery.
- Tyjax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@GFIXLER.
OK, I dont reply to replies usually. But that was so funny. I do so love the use of the double edged wit. Good mind. Sharp reparte. Very funny. I truly laughed.
- JurneyAhed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I find it interesting that you're actually trying to apply realism to that advert
- mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6If it always took that long to get my coke, i'd be pissed.
Good commercial though. :) - littlenewb, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1I wish I could put one quarter in a machine and get a 20 once pop. Looks like false advertising to me, unless anyone knows where you can get quarter cokes?
- Misunderstood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2At the safeway near me you actually can get quarter cokes.
- Canadiens1160, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7These machines are systematically exterminating thousands of snowmen and you think this is an inventive commercial?
Shame.- Niffer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah and I don't want a bunch of freaky little bugs touching my Coke. That's nasty.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1not to mention them canon ballers gotta be a fire hazard
- missflibbles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Must be a chilly little world inside the Coke machine. Cute commercial. I liked the parade.
- goat77, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Sorry, just doesn't work for me... no digg.
- FluffyArmada, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2*tear* That reaffirmed my faith in humanity.
- whackaxe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6nice commercial. they forget the murdered trade unions leaders though http://www.killercoke.org/
- czack, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1coolness
- ToxicWombat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Great commercial. Of course its possible it was designed more for British TV (the length is pushing it for American commercials), but I hope some version of it will air here one day.
- jimmiejaz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Ahhh, where would I see such a comercial, oh wait, T.V.
What's with all the coperate ads lately? It's a god damn ad, sure, it's almost all CGI, who really gives a crap?
I get enough ads on T.V, the radio billboards, street signs, we don't need them here too.
What's next? "Amazing ad for AOL", "Amazing Linux ad"... c'mon people. - lochness, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It's OK. But not "amazing".
I propose a plugin/widget for digg that lets users filter post titles that include
"AMAZING" "BEST EVER" "INCREDIBLE" "MOST ......."
Not the post, just those words. Would make it a much nicer place to be IMHO. - aquapan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why was this even dugg? Its advertising if you watch it and advertising if you tell others.
- Raian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well-- now we know where the cocaine went...
- ldmorris426, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I really like the style and overall thought that went into it
- Privilege, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What a great advert, it actually makes me want to go and drink Coke :p
- Svoma15, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, thats what they are trying to do..
- Niffer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1At the end the guy looks back at the machine thinking "Why in the hell did it take so long for that bottle to come out? Next time I'll just get a Pepsi."
- Tonye5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually if this would have been a Pepsi commercial, they would have still shown Coke some were in the shot.
Pepsi commercials seem to always show coke, I remember reading something a while back, that one of the
main rules in advertising is, never show the competition.
- Tonye5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually if this would have been a Pepsi commercial, they would have still shown Coke some were in the shot.
- neocitron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is amazing... sure it's selling coke but the Artist's expression really shines through here
- lfcfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't understand the big toothed monsters that suck the side of the bottle.
- c4p3n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah that was kinda... different.
- Seumas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They're dirty cokesuckers.
- budderfly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Coca Cola is brutally killing snowmen! ):
Anyways, that was a very ... creative... ad. It would probably be one of those few that make me stop my TiVo and actually watch for the hell of it . - Sammy20, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR
TOOTH DECAY TOOTH DECAYTOOTH DECAY TOOTH DECAY TOOTH DECAY
DIABETES DIABETES DIABETES DIABETES DIABETES DIABETES DIABETES DIABETES- Seumas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Says the guy sitting on his ass in front of an energy-consuming eye-straining device.
- richpav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Anyone notice how easy it would be to customize this commercial to a new market? Re-shoot the two exterior shots, render a new coin and recycle the rest. Brilliant.
- everfalling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1*****
- saudama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like someone's into fantasy.
- sabarsky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So because a commercial was made all in 3D, it's amazing?
- c4p3n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That is a sweet advert. Wish they would show that in the U.S. +Digg
- yahoofrom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That was firefoxing cool.
- kd1s, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Coca Cola from Mexico tastes better because they use real sugar as opposed to High Fructose Corn Syrup used here in the U.S. The reason it's used is because the government allows U.S. sugar to errect barriers to less expensive sugar from around the world to protect the domestic sugar industry for companies like Domino.
Right now a pound of sugar in the U.S. averages around 66 cents. High fructose corn syrup is infinitely cheaper so many manufacturers switched to it.
If you want decent Coca Cola in the U.S. wait until the Jewish high holidays and then look for the Kosher symbol on the bottles or cans. That means it's made with sugar, not High Fructose Corn Syrup.
So stock up then. -
