dailymotion.com — If you haven't gotten into this Adult Swim cartoon, you are missing out. It has frequent references to Star Wars, Marvel/DC comics, and Internet culture. Drawn and inked in the traditional animation style, albeit digitally, and presented in glorious Extra Color, this intelligently done cartoon has become my favorite show.

I was reluctant to post it, because I want people to buy it, but I figure it’s worth introducing it to those who haven’t become addicted yet. Adult Swim Fix airs them as well, but only in the United States. I think if you love it, you will buy it (I have) – not only will you get better image quality and a physical copy, but you will help support the people who made it and hopefully they will make a third season.

      Nah dude, we're promoting them. When the DVD comes out we'll buy it and have nice copies of all the episodes with your insightful commentary and fun outtakes and sketches. In the meanwhile we're showing them to our friends and families so that they buy the DVD too.

    • Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The show is jam packed with references of all kinds, but they're extremely subtle and hidden, and you don't lose anything by missing them entirely. The funniest part of the show, IMO, is how it simultaneously mimics and spoofs those old Johnny Quest style cartoons and comics. It's just incredibly well-written.

      One thing I don't like about it is that it's extremely fast-paced. They cram a lot of material into each episode, so if you blink, you missed something. A Tivo comes in extremely handy.

      Dr. Venture: Why are you naked?
      Brock: To prey on their fear. Move like an animal to feel the kill.

    I'm feeling too cynical already to check it out. Somebody, please give me a reason this is funny, without just quoting an inside joke or telling me it referenced Napoleon Dynamite?
    Seriously, help me want to see this.

Watch one episode. It'll take you 22 minutes and then you'll know if the show is for you or not. You may love it. you may hate it. But only you can make that call.

    • ViktorVaughn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm a season purist. Start with season 1, episode 1 and continue chronologically. The show, for the most part, is episodic. Each episode does not really depend on the others to support their stories, but there are a few surprises and character introductions that will be spoiled if you watch them out of order and there are a few loose time lines and character developments that make more sense if you watch them in order.
  • skoles, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Trial of the Monarch is a rather witty episode. Also Tag-Sale You're-It is a great one. Personally I thought the 2nd season fell a bit short. It was only 6 episodes, which were quality shows in themselves, but could've been stronger for being only 1/2 the shows of a full season.

    The show is done in Flash, they say so in the DVD commentary. It may have traditionally illustrated backgrounds, but it's assembled & animated in Flash.

    The level of in-joke humor is only beaten by some episodes of Johnny Bravo and Dexter's Lab, as far as Geek humor goes.
    I know I am buying series 2 when it comes out, so Jason Publick if you are reading this, you will get my money no problem...

      This is an excellent show and is a full half hour, unlike most of the adult swim 'original content'. I like the other shows a lot, but I would think this show gets people watching the commercials at the break more, and should be more valuable to CN for that reason. Of course, the length and production quality probably offset that.

      I think it's the most intelligent show on Cartoon Network right now.

    Baron Ünderbheit: Catclops! What have you to report?
    Catclops: Tourism has skyrocketed at the Well of Bitter Sorrows and the Ünderbheit Birth Crevasse since you enacted the mandatory attendance edict.
    Baron Ünderbheit: Told you. Girl Hitler?
    Girl Hitler: Benzene chewables have doubled production in ze child slave mines. Dilly-dallying saw a brief spike, but ve stabilized it by removing ze feet of the alpha males, UND DE POPULAR GIRLS!
