I have to disagree with a point in the article: "Microsoft: people don't find it helpful when you block a website because its 'security certificate' isn't valid, especially since this seems to apply to most of the non-Microsoft websites on the Internet. … (see comment)

p341250n: WoW has some of the best lore in the gaming industry. While some of it changes from time to time as a result of being completely immature, it's still very good. There are a lot of people that might talk down about the fact that the lore change … (see comment)

Hamas: We met Obama advisers

Comment in News (2 diggs, 1 reply) - on 11/11/2008 - by magamiako
Considering Hamas controls a good chunk of land in that region, not to mention brokering peace between Hamas and Israel (which mind you, isn't easy) would be a catalyst for peace negotations with the rest of the Middle East--I see nothing wrong with this. … (see comment)

Pledge dies at U. of Del. frat party

Comment in News (0 diggs, 0 replies) - on 11/10/2008 - by magamiako
The fact that he died is tragic, however, I cannot offer condolences because he was a stupid ass. His frat was a stupid ass. Overall, it was a completely avoidable and stupid situation all in the name of "fitting in". I used to know people like that, few … (see comment)

Canadian territory of Nunavut OKs cull of 105 polar bears

prada: The difference is that humans can easily adapt to new habitats. While living closer to society would be a different way of life for a lot of the Inuit people, it would be doable. We can't move polar bears out of the arctic and expect them to adap … (see comment)

Why Microsoft fears Linux

Comment in News (-7 diggs, 2 replies) - on 11/07/2008 - by magamiako
"Linux is here to stay in the server market". Okay, while the linux platform is used in a lot of servers, that does not mean that Windows does not have a strong command of the server market as well. At the very least it has equal or greater representati … (see comment)

Obama's new Change.gov website launches today!

Comment in News (2 diggs, 1 reply) - on 11/07/2008 - by magamiako
Yes but each of these ideas are so vague it's difficult to judge what exactly they will entail. After all, they *could* be good, with good intentions. I know you're likely highly skeptical but I would really wait it out until we had more information. (see comment)

Actually, many schools in some states already require this. In the state of Maryland we already went through this, requiring 75 hours of community service by the time we reach the end of high school. Some of this was a little differently. For my first tw … (see comment)

Whether you agree with this or not, and I certainly don't, the reality is that Israel is something that both the US and Britain created together over 60 years ago. You're not going to see a US Government back out of Israel when the reason for its creatio … (see comment)

This article was fantastic indeed. The Onion is truly great. Perhaps when I find a job in DC I'll stop by the newspaper bins and grab a print copy on my way to work. It's always fun to read them while there. (see comment)

Money Is Tight, and Healthy Food Is Too Expensive

Comment in News (3 diggs, 1 reply) - on 11/05/2008 - by magamiako
It is certainly more expensive to eat healthy, that is, if you count the food you get. For example, At Whole Foods (right next door to my work), an apple costs around $2. A Stouffer's Pot Pie costs about $2.50 at Super Walmart (near my house). I've gone … (see comment)
