If VW, BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz can make it work, why can't GM? They'll all have clean diesels here for the 2009 model year. (see comment)

Amen. I test drove an Audi A6 TDI Quattro for a couple of days last week ... what a sweet car. Had my foot in it quite a bit and still averaged 30 MPG combined. At 70 MPH it wasn't even turning 2000 RPM. (see comment)
