Your boss declares martial law on Facebook

Comment in News (1 digg, 0 replies) - on 05/12/2008
Not a good argument. The fact that I'm on their time doesn't mean, that they can tell me when to go to WC, as long as it is within reasonable limits. (see comment)

Sahara made slow transition from green to desert

Comment in News (1 digg, 0 replies) - on 05/12/2008
No, not necessarily. In fact, it is believed that desertification will take an even greater pace than ever before -- because of "global warming". (see comment)

Blizzard attempt to kill WoW bot bad news for copyright law

Comment in News (1 digg, 0 replies) - on 05/08/2008
Well, it doesn't mean that creating software that is used to play WoW is a copyright infringement! Using the software is, though, so let Blizzard start litigation against its users... =) (see comment)

Sure, being a 300lbs+ swine, you can't really fit in anything smaller than an Escalade! :) Sorry for being rude, but it had to be said... The popularity of bigger cars in USA seems to be consistent with obesity problems... (see comment)

There *are* things that are free, it's just not the "free" you were speaking of. You're probably not even aware of this thing we call "free", if the only thing you could think of was "free of monetary cost". (see comment)

Hans Reiser was convicted Monday of first degree murder in t

Comment in News (6 diggs, 0 replies) - on 04/29/2008
I know a guy who has stalked and subsequently murdered his ex-girlfriend. He was a nice guy, when you were nice with him -- once you start offending him, he's going crazy. The fact that H. Reiser was so nice at a LUG meeting or anything like that doesn' … (see comment)

Yeah, but Reiser was convicted of premeditated murder! Therefore, I guess, they somehow managed to prove, that he really thought everything through in advance. (see comment)

Yes, deers and other such animals can swim, and do it pretty well. Here in Tallinn, Estonia, I've heard a tale of a roe deer passing ca. 2-3 km between Kakumäe and Kopli peninsulas. Here's a link to a Google map, showing the path: http://maps.google.com/m … (see comment)

Space is full of crap

Comment in News (2 diggs, 0 replies) - on 04/12/2008
Venus is clearly a better alternative to dump stuff into, than Mars. And while we're at it, why not use the Sun?.. At least, it's much easier to hit the Sun, than Venus... Another alternative is to use one of the Jovian planets... They're huge -- so our t … (see comment)

Fuelless Water Heater Defies Law of Conservation of Energy

Comment in Videos (3 diggs, 0 replies) - on 04/09/2008
Still, this is a smart nice way to get that extra energy from what you get anyway. :) I wonder if putting a turbine into the pipe directly will yield more power than this apparatus plus a turbine at the outlet... ;) (see comment)

Fuelless Water Heater Defies Law of Conservation of Energy

Comment in Videos (6 diggs, 2 replies) - on 04/09/2008
It simple: it can easily be seen, that the water is probably taken from a common water supply. I believe, most of the energy for this apparatus is taken from the water supply -- the water in the pipes are under pressure, making of which requires energy. M … (see comment)

I believe, it implicitly states that there is a higher level of individually unsolvable social issues in that society, or at least, the level and the amount of these issues is higher than people from this society can handle, hence suicidal tendency. (see comment)

How to Get an Egg Through a Bottleneck

Comment in Videos (-2 diggs, 1 reply) - on 01/14/2008
Yep, the flame is burning oxygen, indeed. But this same flame creates CO2 as a result. So the overall mass of gas inside the bottle never changes, untill the egg is sucked in. The trick is that CO2 is much more dense than O2, hence the "vacuum" effect. (see comment)
