Actually, the iPhone IS running a stripped down version of OS X with a different GUI. Why would it be a stupid thing to say if it is correct? Lots of phones run on UNIX based operating systems, it's more secure and fits on the phone's internal memory. … (see comment)

Despite what the nice man from the MICROSOFT web site says, Apple hasn't "blown" anything. While they are only in 10% of homes, their revenue for last year almost equals Microsoft. They are full of cash right now, and spending it on expanding … (see comment)
