You can only boot faster to Chrome if you have SSD-storage and a special firmware. Still the boot is quite fast, but not really faster than booting my whole karmic desktop and starting the chromium browser, which takes 7 seconds (on a desktop PC with the … (see comment)

This will never go beyond netbooks or specialized systems. It is for device which are used just for the internet and nothing else. And IMO Google doesn't want it to be anything else. It doesn't want to be competition for OSX, Ubuntu or Windows. It can't b … (see comment)

The target platform are definately netbooks (and netbooks only). Judging from the information I could gather, they will build a special computer around this. Meaning: Chrome OS *will* run on other hardware but it only runs good on the specialized hardware … (see comment)
