Interesting discussion about whether the federal government should allow what is left of the American auto industry - GM, Ford and Chrysler - to go belly up. We faced a similar crossroad in the 1980's when Chrysler was bankrupt and it was saved by state and federal loans, management overhaul and union concessions.
