I have an idea. They could sell all new cars with no radio pre-installed, knock $1000 off the price, and the buyer can use that $1000 to get a decent radio installed. (see comment)

I use Windows, but I have Debian installed on a 20GB partition. Every now and then I boot into Debian, update everything, and see if it's ready yet. Not yet. I can't wait for Linux to be ready for the desktop. I can't wait until it's as idiot proof as Win … (see comment)

Normally, aftermarket radios are relatively easy to get in and out, but the car makers make it so you have to tear the whole dash apart to get the stock radio out. (see comment)

Car makers shouldn't make it so damn difficult to change the radio. They know every car owner is going to replace the stock radio at least once, they should make a simple mechanism to do that at home in five minutes. (see comment)
