hi :) i just wanted to make sure that you got a chance to see this article. with all of the problems going on with banks right now, this article really stuck out to me. it comes from interviews with authors and anonymous bank employees who let us in on a bunch of bank 'secrets'. this one kind of sums up the whole bank mess right now:

"13. Sorry, we can't afford to give out free toasters anymore to new customers. Business is brutal."

this article makes an interesting correlation between the problems on wall street and the fact that more & more of the people that work there are smoking more & more. it makes sense but it's not just due to the fact that they are stressed but also because they are bored:

-- A Lehman Brothers employee who, for now, has kept his job with new owner Barclays, is smoking "20, 30% more," in part because "we don’t really have much work to do these days, so we just sit around and talk to people."

definitely an interesting perspective on the current situation. i hope you enjoy it as well

the intro to this article is great:

--- It's 7:35 on the Today show-the time reserved for big, national stories. (George Clooney isn't scheduled till later.) Ann Curry is speaking directly to the camera, her face friendly but concerned because her next guest just may be insane. "So," she asks her six million viewers, "is she an enlightened mom or a really bad one?" The shot widens to reveal … me.

i actually saw the story about this lady on a few news shows where they were calling her 'america's worst mom'. she lays out a lot of good points in rebuke here though... more …
