Oh, as for the buttons not being clickable in iLiberty, have you tried the last tab, "Other Tab" and doing jump out of recovery mode before trying the options in tab 1? iLiberty needs the phone to not be in recovery mode or DFU mode. You need to successfu … (see comment)

As per reply on my blog, it is possible to successfully do the downgrade on your mac... But it's not very easy for the not-tech-savvy... I can try to explain how... It's similar to the instructions above for the PC, the same tools are available for Mac... (see comment)

Hey. Well, I did it on a PC in the end. The real key to the roll back part was having it actually IN DFU mode, NOT recovery mode. The difference is that in recovery mode you see the picture of the cable pointing to an iTunes symbol. That is no good. You n … (see comment)

Further further update: Success! (With the rollback to a working 1.1.4 iPhone anyway!) After 2 days of googling and untold number of software/ firmware restores, and trying every method known to man, I was finally able to get the Vodafone NZ signal bars b … (see comment)

Further Update: I found that the reason I couldn't roll back was because I wasn't properly in DFU mode. It's pretty tricky. Anyway, thanks to http://www.iclarified.com for info on that. I've now rolled back to 1.1.4, but no Vodafone signal... At least I c … (see comment)
