I'm using window units, so I don't have to cool rooms which are not in use or have sufficient ventilation. Like bincoder, I live in a warm (in my case, nearly tropical) climate, and my computers would become very unhappy without a/c. (see comment)

How does this solve anything? According to a Carnegie Mellon University research team, plug-in cars produce only about 30% less greenhouse emissions than conventional vehicles. And they use less petroleum -- or none at all. (see comment)
