For the text demo, results vary a lot between different browser in my testing. In Firefox the text demo results were roughly on par with a slight hit to stream render occasionally, but in Chrome, the normal render was often much slower. (see comment)

@popfrogs Interesting, so the theory is that this problem will only appear on games that are coded for 480i and then 'forced' by the 360 into running at 480p? In that case, one could expect to see the same effect if you played the same game on a PS2 usi … (see comment)

My guess is that the PS3 is using its maximum output resolution (1080p or whatever you configure) to display PS2 games, which were designed to look good at 480i or 480p. I bet if you changed the PS3 output resolution to 480p temporarily to play your PS2 … (see comment)
