Do you stand for an younger woman and more attractive mate? Do you stand for imposing your angry views, your way of thinking on others? Do you stand for a lies-distortions-and-smears-if-you-have-to, pit-bull bullying, winning by whatever unfair means necessary? These are the stands of a self-centered personality seeking to satisfy its wants.
Or do you stand for fairness, for integrity, for what you believe in your heart of hearts to be just and good and right? Do you stand for the power of love and the clarity of wisdom? Do you stand for forgiveness and humbleness? These are the stands of a personality that has aligned himself with his soul. This is the position of a truly powerful personality, and of a great leader.
The McCain campaign has intentionally confused celebrity with popularity. A celebrity is merely a widely-recognized or famous person who commands a high degree of public and media attention. Britney is a talented celebrity, but not admired or popular. Paris Hilton is not even talented, but is a celebrity only by dint of her family name, her bad girl reputation. Both Paris and Britney have commanded a high degree of public and media attention due to their problems with drug and alcohol abuse running afoul of the law. Nice little smear you got going there Herr Schmidt-Karl Rove-John McCain.
On the other hand, Obama is popular. To be popular is the state of being widely admired, accepted, or sought after. A popular person will also command a high degree of public and media attention. Sen. Obama is popular with, and widely admired, accepted, or sought after by millions in the Unites States and worldwide, because he is a person of great character who stands for placing principled values into daily action, a true leader who speaks to a practical resolution of long-standing problems with the language of the heart.
