What you're saying makes complete sense. What some Reddit users are saying is that the algorithm attempts to check if the users are "near" one another and in that case it assumes that is probably is spam. Obviously I don't agree with this approach, hence … (see comment)

I think they should use a mix of different factors, not only the origin IP address. That could prevent some real comments from getting into the system. (see comment)

I'm not saying that the behavior is not normal. What I'm saying is that you wouldn't expect Google to allow other domains to serve their own homepage, search results, etc. You would expect other domains to be landing into a special "partners" page or some … (see comment)
