PC builder: Skulltrail is ‘overkill’ for games

Comment in News (4 diggs, 0 replies) - on 05/05/2008
Like lacronicus said, the $1,000 range is really a good spot for a decent gaming PC. If you're a careful shopper and willing to wait as long as a month or two, you can snag some sweet deals and bring that price even lower. (see comment)

Comment in News (1 digg, 3 replies) - on 05/05/2008

I can't believe how low the prices are for some of these. The Mazda3, Lancer, Impreza, and Rabbit are steals. If you're looking to save money, your best bet is to get a one or two year old used car. (see comment)

Has Microsoft thrown in the towel on Vista?

Comment in News (1 digg, 0 replies) - on 04/24/2008
It does if you're trying to advance technology forward. That's why you can't buy a copy of Windows 95. It would be a nightmare for MS to still support earlier versions of Windows, though they should keep XP around until Windows 7 arrives (just not in larg … (see comment)

A couple of big differences. 1. Houses were massively artificially inflated due to low loan rates, especially here in California. 2. The Great Depressions also caused huge unemployment rates. It'll be at least a couple of years before the housing market g … (see comment)

U.S. hybrid sales increased by 38%, Prius leads segment

Comment in News (1 digg, 0 replies) - on 04/22/2008
For hybrid sales to really take off, an auto maker needs to build a hybrid truck that people who don't live in cities on America's coasts can actually use. Prices also need to go down. (see comment)
