Yeah, if you ever look on the box when buying an SD card or anything, it will say something like "Data retention up to 10 years". Eventually, the data cells lose their charge. (see comment)

That was true about a year ago when those consoles were relatively new, but it's pretty even now. Last I checked, 360's attach rate was something in the low 8s, Wii's was in the high 7s, and PS3s was in the high 6s. (see comment)
