Also Jamie Foxx survived "The Kingdom" without dying. In Saudi Arabia. Wearing an FBI uniform. That took some epic 'death-dodging'. (see comment)

Clean Energy 2030: Google's plan to save the planet

Comment in News (3 diggs, 0 replies) - on 10/03/2008
I know a lot of people that would rather kill themselves than see that happen. That's an extreme route to take, without a doubt, but there really is a mixed bag that comes with having a massive corporation running a country as compared to a massive govern … (see comment)

Why is the Internet so infuriatingly slow?

Comment in News (2 diggs, 0 replies) - on 09/06/2008
Duh, buying a $10k blade server to handle 15 new users is a whole hell of a lot more expensive than blaming your users. (see comment)

How to survive your first college roommate

Comment in News (1 digg, 0 replies) - on 09/05/2008
Wow, you guys had to put up with one roommate and couldn't take it? My first year I had three other roommates: one was a diabetic, had a hip flare, and he was in the Design and Architecture program. Another one was training to be a cop and liked watching … (see comment)

WebKit's probably to blame for a good part of that; it's a solid rendering engine. (see comment)

Apparently they've been working on it for two years; as much fun as we make of Google for Gmail being in beta still, Chrome is far beyond what many would consider a beta stage. (see comment)

Smokestack Heat: Fuel of The Future?

Comment in News (3 diggs, 0 replies) - on 08/22/2008
It's called co-generation. Only one problem with it: Co-generation plants usually have to be very close to what they're heating and powering, or else the efficiency gain from harnessing the waste heat is lost during transportation as the heated air cools … (see comment)

Why Halo 3 Underwhelmed

Comment in News (3 diggs, 0 replies) - on 08/22/2008
Halo 3 is the guideline for future FPS titles? Dear Cthulhu, I hope not. Woo, MP is good, but tons of (Valve and Blizzard) games do that, and even better than Halo 3 did. Co-op might be the best single achievement that Halo 3 brought to SP gaming, but I' … (see comment)

Five Games You Love that should go MMO

Comment in News (1 digg, 0 replies) - on 08/08/2008
Someone tried to get a Pokemon MMO going a while ago, I don't know what happened to it, but it disappeared during the beta stage, I believe. It wasn't like Pokemon Indigo either, it was an actual game that you load up and run around the world in. (see comment)
