Trolltech's QT Designer is cross platform and WYSIWYG, making it very easy to use. I use the Linux version with no problems whatsoever. And if you're referring to Visual Studio, try NetBeans. VERY similar to VS. (see comment)

Actually, it's how the maps are designed. They were designed to go anywhere from 8 (Shipment) to 25ish players. Any more than that and you start to see it get cramped. BF2142 on the other hand is made for 16,32, and 64 players, and they are nice spacious … (see comment)
