Only if you buy it from Apple (and only a fool buys ram upgrades from Apple). As for Games, well after a day of editing/rendering/post-processing HD video, it's nice to be able to relax. And yes, it was meant to be funny. (see comment)

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. My Mac Pro with 2 quad-core CPU's, 16GB RAM, plus NVidia 8800GT plays games under Vista just fine. I'll admit it chugs at times, but that is just to be expected right? (see comment)

Using tar this way seems a bit convoluted. rsync would be better. e.g. rsync -avl {dir} my_new_MP3_directory/ Or if you don't have rsync, you could do it old-school with cpio e.g. find {dir} | cpio -pdm my_new_MP3_directory Does anyone still use cpio t … (see comment)

Interesting. I've been using EmergeDesktop for over 12 months in a corporate environment (usual office apps, exceed, 3 monitor setup). I haven't found anything that has broken yet. I guess I must be special. (see comment)
