23 Stunning Examples of High Speed Photography [PICS]

Some of those, including the playing card, are recreations of or at least homages to Harold "Doc" Edgerton, an MIT professor who pioneered multi-flash strobe photography in the 1930's and 40's. Do a Google image search on his name and you'll find a bunch … (see comment)

What percentage of drivers on the road drive "around the nation"? If that's the sole target audience of satellite radio then they were doomed from day 1. The vast majority of drivers do most of their driving within something like 20 miles of their home, … (see comment)

It'll be interesting to see what restrictions the FCC manages to push through. Terrestrial radio groups have been pushing for all sorts of sanctions like a certain number of channels that they can program, a certain number devoted to minority programming … (see comment)

I strongly suggest you compare the crash site and debris field of United 93 with that of Pan Am 103. Pan Am 103 was brought down over Scotland due to 16 ounces of plastic explosives in some checked luggage. The warhead of a missile contains numerous pou … (see comment)

Bullshit. If it was shot down it would have occurred at cruising altitude since the jet would have no idea a fighter a couple miles away was launching missiles at it. At 30,000 to 35,000 feet (5 miles) there's no way somebody on the ground would be able … (see comment)

Agreed. About the only emotion I've seen from drummers is Keith Moon trashing his kit. Most other drummers don't have any spare energy to expend on wasted emotions - they need it all for the drums. (see comment)

@natsfan - I agree entirely with what you're saying. Unfortunately the chances of us ever invading Pakistan outright are pretty slim. Pakistan has nukes, so we don't want to risk triggering a nuclear confrontation. (see comment)

"Actually all of the hijackers were Egyptian and Saudi". True, but they, and all the people who planned 9/11 were members of Al Quaida who trained in and were given asylum in Afghanistan by the Taliban. Even after 9/11 bin-Laden and his cronies remained … (see comment)

No, I don't think the Iraq situation started when Bush Jr. took office. I also don't think it started when Bush Sr. took office, although Bush Sr. had a MUCH better understanding of Iraq and how to deal with Saddam. Bush Sr. attempted diplomacy but when … (see comment)
