0.68% of their customers is probably a few million dollars. Their interest in not losing that revenue is plenty strong. You don't succeed in the business world by not bothering to make all the money you can. (see comment)

Jealous of ATI users? Maybe their brand new cards have open source drivers I'm not aware of (I'm aware only of vague promises for the future), but most of us are still stuck with nightmarish drivers. I wish I'd bought Nvidia. (see comment)
