ABC News once again tries to “hide” Ron Paul popularity
Comment in News (5 diggs, 1 reply) - on 08/06/2007
What he said about bridges is a stretch, but the bottom line is that it's a government failure since govt was the responsible authority. Unlike similar instances in the free market, the responsible government agency will get more $$ and their incompetenc … (see comment)

Comment in News (9 diggs, 1 reply) - on 08/03/2007
Sure government programs "can work." But nowhere near as efficiently as the free market. The average tax burden in America (all sources of taxes) is close to 40%. Taking into account future liabilities (medicare, SS, etc) the average American family's sha … (see comment)

Clear the Stage - Why the media hates Ron Paul & all "2nd tier" Candidates
Comment in News (4 diggs, 0 replies) - on 08/03/2007
Sorry Jon you're wrong on this one - By eliminating the 2nd tier candidates before the primaries, you silence dissenting voices within the party. For example - let's say your logic is applied to Ron Paul. The debate exclusion discourages fence sitters who … (see comment)

It's dug down because it's a chicken/egg argument - What comes first, popularity, or coverage? If the popularity comes first then yes, the coverage is for ratings. But if the coverage comes first, isn't that likely a primary source of ratings? The vas … (see comment)

Fantastic article. This is precisely the pitch i've been giving to my fellow Republican friends and family. As best I can tell, my success rate is 100%. If you believe the federal government is too big, this is your man. No other candidate has a track … (see comment)

Ron Paul And The Fair Tax: Can I support both?
Comment in News (1 digg, 0 replies) - on 07/31/2007
In concept, the "fair tax" is better than the income tax. But for any serious discussion, the fair tax legislation legislation needs a line that says "this bill shall take effect immediately on upon certification of the repeal of the 16th amendment, but n … (see comment)

These things are hard to do - it was nice effort but ultimately it's unfair to try and summarize a position via a check box. An obvious example of this is Ron Paul's abortion position. He's is opposed to abortion, however, he puts the constitution above … (see comment)

I wish so much that this was true! Unfortunately, Bush didn't veto a single bill in his first term. His first veto was in July of 2006. The May 2007 veto of the troop withdrawal plan was only the 2nd bill he's ever vetoed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ … (see comment)
