- tonmil, on 03/28/2009, -7/+171Stupid title. Parks don't have malls
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -2/+127Yeah, I mean how the hell would you build a mall on a waterfall? It's too steep and all the shoppers would get wet. That's ***** stupid.
- wannaBdug, on 03/27/2009, -6/+98Yosemite is so stunning. I remembered oohing and ahhing after every bend. If you've never been it should be on your Bucket List.
- Spandia, on 03/28/2009, -5/+92President Obama is trying to take away Yosemite's national park status and build a super mall that sells robot parts for his cyborg civilian militia
- quiddy, on 03/28/2009, -1/+66Wake up, sheeple! They're putting RAINBOWS in our WATER SUPPLY.
- TheCod, on 03/28/2009, -1/+45..but it takes up 3000 times the memory.
- voodoochild461, on 03/28/2009, -3/+43I wouldn't mind building a cabin there, and of course run a FiOS line out there.
- Secret7000, on 03/28/2009, -4/+39Or if you do build a mall here, make sure you get rid of all that sucky nature stuff first. No-one wants to see waterfalls when your'e in the food court.
- KingChango, on 03/28/2009, -2/+30Hold on there city slicker.
- atlasdugged, on 03/27/2009, -6/+32Yosemite means literally “those who kill” The Yosemite people were referred to as killers by surrounding tribes, who feared them. Hard to believe such a beautiful place has such a violent name.
- gozroth, on 03/28/2009, -21/+44there goes environmentalists again, freaking out for no reason.
- URnotheonly1, on 03/28/2009, -3/+21please shut up
- TyrannousDotNet, on 03/28/2009, -2/+19the strongest got the nicest land.
- Waaaaalt, on 03/28/2009, -1/+11Why else would I eat at Rainforest Cafe?
- ConfusedCartman, on 03/28/2009, -0/+8Do you wanna talk about it?
- aforsberg, on 03/28/2009, -1/+9Look at that polygon count!
- Sisko41, on 03/29/2009, -0/+755 ppl so far do.
- BassMasterP, on 03/28/2009, -2/+9America was founded that way???
- Otnehs, on 03/28/2009, -5/+12I went here when I was a kid, I accidentally walked straight into a marsh within like the first 5 minutes of being there (the moss looked like ground and in my defense, I was starring at one of the waterfalls), shoes wet for the rest of the day, ***** day sucked.
- kinerry, on 03/28/2009, -3/+10it's government land, you couldn't build there with a billion dollars if you wanted...
- nannadenseje, on 03/28/2009, -0/+7Pictures don't do it justice - you have to see Yosemite in real life.
- pigeonmeister, on 03/28/2009, -0/+6I'd be really upset if they ever built a mall there. They should build one outside of it instead and then level the actual park to turn it into a giant parking lot.
- wpc33, on 03/28/2009, -3/+9You sound like an antagonist on Frasier.
- geesamba, on 03/28/2009, -1/+7nerd.
;-) - mrfunktastic, on 03/28/2009, -1/+6Protip: don't just hang out in the village
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -1/+6Oh please! I want my nature with a Krispy Kreme Burger and a deep fried cosmopolitan. Also, if you don't build an expressway all the way to the waterfall then you'd be discriminating against those of us not given to walking. A mall would encourage and enable average americans to see whatever natural beauty that remains after we built the mall. The Yosemite belongs to everyone. It's time we took our country back from the fit environmentalists who think their compost smells like roses.
- GordonClass, on 03/28/2009, -1/+6Screw the Mall idea. Nuclear Power Plant is the way to go.
- BrogMaN, on 03/29/2009, -0/+5Going backpacking there this summer and helping perform population surveys on the frog species in Yosemite. So excited!
- shovelheadbent, on 03/28/2009, -0/+5take me back wet shoe or not
- deathmatch, on 03/28/2009, -4/+8A mini mall would be awesome underneath that waterfall.
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -2/+6I'd really like some higher res versions of those, anyone?
- StrykeIRL, on 03/28/2009, -0/+4Montgomery, flea market
it's just like
a mini
MALL - sundancekid503, on 03/28/2009, -3/+7Yosemite is beautiful, except there's usually so many people there you feel like you're in a crowded mall.
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -1/+4That's the first step.
- raskali, on 03/29/2009, -0/+3I thought a Starbucks would go very well in that little grove of trees.
- fuzzybeard, on 03/28/2009, -0/+3Do a search on flickr.com for the tag "Yosemite."
- CleverMind, on 03/28/2009, -1/+4The government could...
- aceec, on 03/29/2009, -0/+3It's been losing money for a while and a number of ideas have been discussed. Not sure if any of them included a mall though.
- WhoDoneIt, on 03/28/2009, -1/+4I understand your post but really, Yosemite isn't the best place to go if you want to see the earth before humans ***** it up. Take a jaunt to the Rockies or go farther nothing and visit the Yukon or Alaska.
- fandyllic, on 03/28/2009, -0/+3That kind of environmentalist should be committed, alright.
- Perk, on 03/29/2009, -0/+3If you had a billion dollars to spend - you could underbid DNC inc and become the Park Concessioner. Then just build an extra cabin at one of the lodges and live in it. Run the FIOS in as part of the "Guest Ammenities Upgrade" project...
Or just buy yourself an Appropriations Senator and a couple of Congresspersons and do whatever the hell you want. Lord knows they're not expensive =) - WhoDoneIt, on 03/28/2009, -0/+3Contact the photographer and ask them if you can buy them. I'm sure they would be willing to sell their artwork.
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -0/+2http://www.anseladams.com/ansel_art/yosemite.html
- str1fe, on 03/29/2009, -0/+2I watched The Bucket List not too long ago and don't remember "Nobody cares what you think" being a major quote, though it wouldn't surprise me if Jack Nicholson's character said it multiple times.
- anotherjack, on 03/29/2009, -0/+2A general store for the needs of those people staying a few nights.
- fuzzybeard, on 03/28/2009, -0/+2Not the wisest thing to do in the middle of a fairly good-sized caldera.
- Atomic1fire, on 03/29/2009, -0/+2Why not just put a taco johns there,
Gives new meaning to the word hotsauce - fandyllic, on 03/28/2009, -0/+2Well alot of people are trying really hard to ***** up Alaska. I would recommend the Canadian Rockies over just any part of the Rockies.
