- gaapgod, on 08/12/2008, -0/+30I'm going to put my apartment on the market at $999 million just to get on the list.
"This crappy apartment in Atlanta is short on character and has plenty of noisy dogs around to piss you off. Eighties-era fixtures adorn the kitchen and bathrooms, and the air conditioner stuggles to cool the small space while still costing $300 per month."
Yeah, that would do it. - acmaurer, on 08/12/2008, -0/+17incredible photos - i just wish there could be 3D tours too!
- Tomboys, on 08/12/2008, -3/+18Gluttony at it's best.
- alapoet, on 08/12/2008, -0/+15I KNEW there was some reason I wanted a ***** of money.
- ironeus, on 08/12/2008, -0/+12These homes boast great architecture and are nice for entertaining schwanky celebrity parties. Most times though having 15,000 square feet is no different than a much more modest sized house. Space unused is pointless space.
- drex8, on 08/12/2008, -0/+12I almost assumed that this article is from Forbes, until I saw the abcnews.com link.
- dawnlikethesoap, on 08/13/2008, -0/+10I got through about 5 pictures before I realized... I don't give a *****.
- deadparts, on 08/13/2008, -0/+9Why do expensive houses always look so horrible inside. It's like Elton John exploded all over the walls of these places.
- Rudegar, on 08/13/2008, -0/+7some of those pictures are pretty bad IMHO
showing a swimming-pool and little else
i mean wwwooooowww! a swimming-pool of my own! - bullioncube, on 08/13/2008, -0/+5"...has been sold for $100 million to a Russian fertilizer billionaire." Holy *****, I didn't even know that there was a big market for that stuff. Also, one ***** page.
- Hota, on 08/13/2008, -0/+5Wow, the annual upkeep on some of these homes probably costs more than my entire house. I couldn't even afford to live in them if I were given the house for "free".
- MysticSavage, on 08/13/2008, -0/+4There's a visual I could've done without.
- lucy22, on 08/12/2008, -1/+5My home really looks like a shack now. Love the pools......one day when I am.....Oh to much of a cliche, really.
- FonzsXe, on 08/13/2008, -0/+4wow, thats actually on the list genius
- Surferess, on 08/12/2008, -0/+4I bet you'd think there was a difference if you had to vacuum it! lol
- mrburgundy, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3what about versailles? how much do you think that one cost?
- LocalDocal, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3I agree with him (well, at least to an extent anyway). Sure, it's fun to have the money to buy every new PC/TV/phone from Alienware/Sony/Apple, but what's the point if you're working 80-90 hours a week in order to get it? You'll probably treasure sleep more at that point.
Me? I have the most fun when I'm on the Internet arguing with people. - eggsovereasy, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3The neighborhood association probably doesn't allow it.
- jamesdew, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3No you don't...
- ironeus, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3touché :)
- suckanucka, on 08/13/2008, -1/+4Dugg down for this kind of ***** saturating the media. I don't want to see it on my precious digg.
- sporg, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3Don't be, the very rich are usually no happier than normal people. It has been shown again and again that material wealth does not increase your level of happiness. The thing that makes most people happy is leisure time so you should make an effort to work less even if it means you cant afford to buy as much crap. The rich spend most of their time scheming up ways to become even richer
- MysticSavage, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3Throw in some dead hooker storage and you have a winner!!
- krische, on 08/13/2008, -0/+3I was surprised to not see Bill Gates' house on there.
- Elephant789, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2You own the neighbourhood. And what kind of neighbourhood association doesn't allow a garden?
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2I wouldn't even know what to do with a house like those.
Seriously. I think I'd buy a Manhattan penthouse and a house in the country with a lot of land. What the hell do you do with a castle? - InsaneOni, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2Otherwise known as "The World's All-Time Most Ugly Overpriced Homes (w/ Pics)".
Seriously, all of those, except the one on the French Riviera, were hideous. Goes to show that wealth doesn't grant you good taste. - MiniCooper2007, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2I know envy is bad, but I'm REALLY envious right now.
- ChocoMidget, on 08/13/2008, -1/+3As a location scout, I photograph homes like these all the time and let me tell you they are the most boring POS on the planet. Usually poorly maintained because they are too large, complete waste of space, ugly as ***** interiors because they are all trying to be french royalty and it's gay, and as far as the latest and greatest technology - forget most of these people are so far behind it would blow your mind. You want a lot of tech toys look for a modern style house cause that owner will have them, these people are old farts by the time they are 30 and still use CRT and cheap ass displays because the rich are one thing CHEAP.
- aadsm, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2Maybe that's because his house is not for sale?
- SirTheGuy, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2At first when I read the headline, I saw "World's Most Explosive Homes" :-
- captmorgan555, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2Umm, whats up with number 5? No information about the price or where on earth it is, just a picture of the front door? FAIL.
- aduck, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2two words: secret passageways
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -0/+2Where's Richard Garriott's castle?
- ieee, on 08/12/2008, -1/+2I don't think those things are so bad when the McMansions that are going up are so much more numerous.
- TheJimid, on 08/13/2008, -0/+1Preferably with Robin Leech and a bottle of bubbly
- shagmin, on 08/13/2008, -0/+1His ***** must be made out of gold, cause at least around here you can get the ***** for free... beef farms, people with horses.
- manzplan, on 08/12/2008, -7/+8one thing I really really HATE is "manicured gardens" the front yards that look like football fields.
plant some trees, grow some fruit, have veges.. I dont care if you are rich.. do it..
the first thing I did when I moved to the country was put in a garden...
oh and while I am at it.. get a chicken coop!!!! - jkr801, on 08/13/2008, -0/+1"its the most balla ***** eva!!!"

- phresheez, on 08/13/2008, -0/+1I wonder how many Roombas it would take to handle 75,000 sq ft?
- robertredford1, on 08/13/2008, -0/+1When it gets to a point where you use less than half of your rooms on a daily basis, theres no point...
- driverdave, on 12/09/2008, -0/+1wow, these real estate prices are insane.
http://www.realestatenewyorkcity.net/realty/218/ny ... - janice92656, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Will somebody please click on my adsense so that I can afford one of these homes? (J/K)
- Shivetya, on 08/13/2008, -0/+1I look at it this way, this should inspire more people to become rich, not inspire people to find politicians to take it. Yet alas, even in America that is the direction we are going "If I am too lazy to work for it you should not have it either"
