- dawgma, on 04/14/2008, -1/+96it looks like an over processed, dirty looking HDR image?
- gravityboard, on 04/14/2008, -5/+57"What You'll See From the Top of the Empire State Building"
...if your eyes display in HDR... - inactive, on 04/14/2008, -3/+51what you will see on top of Burj Dubai: http://www.blog.thesietch.org/wp-content/uploads/2 ...
- bustedconsum, on 04/14/2008, -2/+35Horrible attempt at HRD, but average photo
- DeathJux, on 04/14/2008, -1/+25Nothing like ridiculous post-processing to amplify the chromatic aberration of your lens, mmm mmm.
- gothicform, on 04/14/2008, -0/+16The HDR is totally overdone. Look how noisy the sky is. Someone needs to learn post processing and the view isn't that good either. I see not one beautiful building in shot. NYC can look amazing but this photo isn't one.
- NightcrawlerX, on 04/14/2008, -2/+17The view of the city is marvelous, but can't help to notice that the sky is stealing the show.
- BeeArePro, on 04/14/2008, -13/+27"What you'll see from the top of the Empire State Building..."
Not the Twin Towers.
..too early? - rivalius13, on 04/14/2008, -1/+15I prefer the panorama picture: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fe/Empi ... Might not use that fancy tech, but shows you more of Manhattan.
- bj1989, on 04/14/2008, -0/+11No, your eyes DO actually see a High Dynamic Range, they just dn't... aw whatever, I'm not gonna explain it AGAIN!
Anyway, yeah, if you just ate some curious mushrooms than this might just be what you'll see from the top of the empire state building. - einrobstein, on 04/14/2008, -4/+15I don't know why everyone is complaining that the GTA IV graphics aren't good enough. This screen shot is phenomenal!
- Joshuarr, on 04/14/2008, -0/+10Proofread is actually 1 word.
- LogitechG15, on 04/14/2008, -2/+10You have failed, move back two spaces.
- Ihoss, on 04/14/2008, -0/+6Yeah, you're looking in the wrong direction...
- PJBovoNox, on 04/14/2008, -0/+6Because they might jump from their desk?
- whisperedlie, on 04/14/2008, -0/+5did you take that photo with a Creative Video Blaster WebCam?
- luag, on 04/14/2008, -0/+5Needs better HDR processing....and the chromatic abberations are annoying. Sorry.
- ayeroxor, on 04/14/2008, -0/+5It's stealing the show because some kid loaded the picture into some EasyHDR-in-one-click program and turned all the insta-auto-set buttons to eleven.
- PJBovoNox, on 04/14/2008, -0/+5I LOL'd! :)
- Noonward, on 04/14/2008, -1/+5I can confirm this, there are multitudes of towers around, this is no lie.
- bravado84, on 04/14/2008, -1/+5HDR should be used in moderation like make-up....if you use it to much, it looks rediculous. That's just my opinion...perhaps other people like over saturated photo's.
- Joshuarr, on 04/14/2008, -0/+4...and WAY over-sharpened to accommodate for lousy focus and weak sensor (or is that camera shake I see?).
- joeallam, on 04/14/2008, -0/+4HAHAHAHAHAHA
- mlesn, on 04/14/2008, -1/+4Very bad quality.
- heavystone, on 04/14/2008, -0/+3Yeah I noticed that as well. Pretty bad.
- Janv1er, on 04/14/2008, -1/+4BAD photo..
- CaffieneMan, on 04/14/2008, -0/+3looks photoshopped, I'd have preferred an untouched panoramic view
I was at the top of the Empire State building, the view is breathtaking, this image doesn't do it justice - bbart3d, on 04/14/2008, -0/+3Thank you for not Rick Rolling me.
- Psythik, on 04/14/2008, -1/+4I guess you could say we got Earth-Rolled instead...
- ywgflyer, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2Nice pic, but it's got more grain than a farmer's field.
- inactive, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2 That's nice and all but right now I'm more interested in what the view will be from the Rotterdam tower in Liberty City.
- phlezk, on 04/14/2008, -1/+3You actually will not see this, eyes don't view things in HDR.
Plus it's grainy. GTFO. - jazzboyrules, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2It's altophobia.
- stealth45, on 04/15/2008, -0/+2The point of HDR is to recreate the tones and values that human eyes see naturally, in the sense that everything is properly exposed. Douchebags enjoy over-doing it and submitting it to Digg.
- alwaysnomadic, on 11/18/2008, -0/+2it's a mediocre quality photo of a great view. nothing special, there are much better efforts out there
- yacks, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2not acrophobia?
- directedition, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2I wonder what constitutes a good attempt at HDR. Is it just that tone mapping is universally hated by Digg? Can someone provide an example of a GOOD attempt at HDR?
- gadgetuk, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2Yeah, it's not great.
It's been 10 years since I last went to NYC - I'm sure I remember a clearer view of Central Park from the top of the Empire State. Has it been obscured recently? - omega6, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2This image sucks balls. Before you attempt HDR please remove noise. ugh
- Mercedes383, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2Chromatic aberration, especially at the bottom.
- mattrmcg, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2What you really see at the Empire State Building is a huge ass line :(
- stealth45, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2Here's what I saw when I was there a couple of months ago:
http://photos.jpgmag.com/391426_95400_c7813d3a48_p ... - SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2Dual monitors turned 90 degrees and stacked?
- smallphox, on 04/14/2008, -0/+2Your screen aspect ratio is 10:15?! oO
- phatboyslim, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1All I see from the top is those stupid glass plates that protect my dumbass from falling over the edge.
- directedition, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1A combination of chromatic aberration and the photo being taken from inside a tower that is swaying in the wind. There really is no way around that if you combine multiple exposures. You can line up all the buildings you want, you're still going to have warped perspective around everything.
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1Cloverfield?
- endus, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1I'll see a badly done HDR photo with horrific amounts of Chromatic Aberration at the edges that was apparently shot at high iso for no reason? Guess I won't bother then.
- wassim2k, on 04/15/2008, -0/+1Uhm, I'm pretty sure the building has four sides to it. I don't think that's the best side either. You can see the statue of liberty from another side. However, that's the side you get a glimpse of New Jersey on, which kind of ruins it for everyone.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/14/2008, -0/+1... and on top of all that, vertical letterbox is useless. (Unless you're making a poster of course) But only blind orphans would enjoy this sub-par quality picture as a poster.
