- inactive, on 12/25/2008, -0/+16Looks nothing like a spider. I want my money back.
- Falldog, on 12/25/2008, -0/+14Well it's got four legs. Totally spider like.
Okay, it's only 50% spider like. - Peko, on 12/25/2008, -0/+9Vids:

- greenlight2001, on 12/25/2008, -0/+5But much easier to find at a marina than gasoline is.
- acparks1, on 12/25/2008, -0/+4"Wave of the future..."-- I see what you did there.
- Janizzary, on 12/25/2008, -0/+3It looks like one good strong wave would snap into pieces.
- retral, on 12/25/2008, -0/+3It does appear to be a bit.. pointless, but I think there have been better watercraft created already.
What about the boats that use fins to lift the boat out of the water and minimize friction? - votingprawn, on 12/25/2008, -0/+3I would hazard a guess that its because the same videos were posted just 4 posts previously.
- Gloony, on 12/26/2008, -0/+2I've seen spiders with seven legs. Well, drawings...
- bagboyrebel, on 12/25/2008, -0/+2So by spider they mean that it has leg-like structures on it, and by dancing they mean that it kind of bounces a little, and by James Bond they mean "please view this article".
- Ryanw430, on 12/25/2008, -0/+2I think something like this would be way cooler for transporting tons of people/cargo across the ocean for cheap...
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn2799-boeing- ... - cadebbie, on 12/25/2008, -0/+2 I wished I had been on a ferry heading into San Fran when that boat was doing it's test runs.
- merrickx, on 12/25/2008, -0/+2They've got one of these at the base I'm stationed. Aside from looking cool, it doesn't really seem like it's got anything special to it. As for the remark about making it a cargo carrier, they'd probably have to redesign and make it more structurally sound. It doesn't look like it would hold up in heavy seas too well either. My suggestion: Make a personal model that's a little larger or has a larger cabin. Make that cabin all glass floors and whatnot. Throw some modern furniture in there... party boat. Maybe I'll get some up-close shots and post a link up here... actually, nix that. We're in stand-down. I'm definitely not going back to work until I have to.
- liquidgrey, on 12/25/2008, -0/+1it dances with the waves
- Craig304958, on 12/26/2008, -0/+1Have to agree it'd be pretty iffy in heavy weather. Imagine this in a gale or higher, being lifted right out of the water and tumbling through the air next to Dorothy's witch-on-a-bicycle... no thanks.
- WhoDoneIt, on 12/25/2008, -0/+1Alright, I just watched the videos and it looks like HP has helped design the computer system that it runs on. My bad. All makes sense now and I can finally enjoy Christmas.
- WhoDoneIt, on 12/25/2008, -0/+1Change the font for the logo, please. HP has used that font for much longer and all I can think about is HP when I see the name.
- woody313, on 12/26/2008, -0/+1You mean Hydrofoils, they can only operate on smooth water at high speed. Hit a decent wave and its all over..
- wownotagain123, on 12/26/2008, -0/+1The same thing we do every night, try to take over the world!
- Duncan3, on 12/25/2008, -0/+1Did MailOnline take over digg? Every story they post ends up here now...
Adblock FTW! - zspade, on 12/25/2008, -0/+1Wonder how it would fare in a storm...
- dogstylee, on 12/25/2008, -0/+1It's just a big catamaran with suspension.
Get over it beardy. - Minatour, on 12/25/2008, -0/+0when i saw the title on the site i was like WTF but it made a lot more sense further on lol
- davidzilla, on 12/26/2008, -0/+0Not sure if turrets and mini-guns would make it any more useful, but it sure would make it more awesome.
- Orsenfelt, on 12/25/2008, -1/+1That is the coolest thing I have seen all year..
I want one of those! - Sangreal2007, on 12/25/2008, -0/+0man, if you attached some turrets on there and had some mini-guns, this thing could be vicious.
- greenlight2001, on 12/25/2008, -1/+1Roll'd!!! *****!
- Uiaccsk, on 12/25/2008, -1/+1rogue wave ftw!
- JacksonYaya, on 12/25/2008, -0/+0>>>And just as James Bond is about to catch the international criminal, the main body detaches from the giant structure and becomes a jet-powered escape pod.
- inactive, on 12/25/2008, -0/+0It seems useless. It just looks cool. I'll stick to paddle-boats, thanks.
- WhoDoneIt, on 12/25/2008, -1/+1Not sure why you are getting dugg down. It is indeed video on the Proteus.
- elliotys, on 12/25/2008, -2/+1But will it blend?
- altafsayani, on 12/25/2008, -1/+0I want to travel in this cruise :D
- inactive, on 12/25/2008, -2/+1This is could be so effing cool!
- akchrs, on 12/25/2008, -3/+1"Powered by twin diesel engines,"
Diesel's expensive now. - haentz, on 12/25/2008, -8/+3If you want to get an idea what "dancing with the waves" mean, check these videos. It's indeed quite amazing.
