  • gtluke, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1This isn't new. I'm a controls engineer at poo plants in NYC. Lots of plants power all kinds of "crap" using the methane from the poo. Generators, HUGE blowers, Boilers, and some of them can even just send power out to the grid. The giant plant on ward's island will even be providing power to the psych ward on randall's island. They are actually the same island, the gap was filled like 100 years ago.

We grew it using a ton of oil, then transported it to where the most people are, and where the energy happens to be needed. Recycling it into energy is simply not being morons anymore. Now if we can only recover more of the wasted city water in that uninhabitable desert we call the American Southwest.
