- liquidtaco, on 02/02/2009, -0/+62for sale: refurbished passenger jet, new engines!
- snotrokit, on 02/02/2009, -6/+45That thing should go the Smithsonian. Really. That story is just a fantastic series of luck, skill, guts, and technology.
- Firespray1138, on 02/02/2009, -2/+38OVERSIZE LOAD
Think the giant plane gives it away. - DontDoDrugs, on 02/02/2009, -0/+25Just washed!
- inactive, on 02/02/2009, -0/+18Should carfax it imo.
- Slickviper, on 02/02/2009, -3/+20Video of it passing buy on, http://www.quintanomedia.com/index.php/2009/01/31/ ... Quite a bit of security around it!
- waluum, on 02/02/2009, -1/+17"OVERSIZE LOAD" should say "LOOK BEHIND US"
- masterc, on 02/02/2009, -2/+17Awesome! I live in California and that is cool!
Nobody cares where you live. - fishshogun, on 02/02/2009, -0/+13Wings not included.
- Fanrir, on 02/02/2009, -0/+9I like the idiot in the SUV that just pulls out in the middle of the convoy.
- spyd3rweb, on 02/02/2009, -0/+8Should give it to the Mythbusters
- trejrco, on 02/03/2009, -0/+8I am pretty sure they settled for "Making it out alive, with wet clothes" (and maybe even a drowned computer) than the alternatives such as "burned alive with luggage" or "completely vaporized" ...

- gqquintano, on 02/03/2009, -1/+8 Hey everyone this article is not the original one you can find the original site here.. and its not being digged. I would appreciate me being the original photographer for my original photos to be dugg instead. http://digg.com/world_news/Breaking_News_Caught_U_ ...
- Nerobellum, on 02/02/2009, -5/+11New Jersey = Junk yard
- PGPirate, on 02/02/2009, -1/+7Not even the weirdest object on the Jersey roadway today.....
- rodted2, on 02/03/2009, -3/+8Thats one big ass dildo.
- Kyan, on 02/03/2009, -0/+5So then put the pilot and crew in the Smithsonian.
- snotrokit, on 02/03/2009, -0/+5You are correct in that it was the pilot and crew that did the work and deserve the credit. Aside from that model of Airbus having a "ditch mode"; technology (aside from airframe construction, etc) was nothing special. The airplane itself however would be a tangible historical artifact, albeit a rather large one, that could be displayed.
- obama4prez, on 02/02/2009, -0/+4jetfax
- DontDoDrugs, on 02/02/2009, -0/+4Let's just say that everyone's belongings should be very clean.
- Goosecomics, on 02/03/2009, -0/+4It ran out of RedBull
- drunkenoaf, on 02/03/2009, -2/+6"Thank god for proof"? As an atheist, I find that statement both ironic and amusing.
- jasdf, on 02/03/2009, -1/+4Yes, an A320 with wings, engines, horizontal stabilizer, vertical stabilizer, doors, ect.
I know a thing or two about airplanes. - maverex, on 02/03/2009, -0/+3I can't believe nobody is digging you up. I have lost all faith in the digg community.
- jasdf, on 02/02/2009, -0/+3You can fax cars now? Where have I been.
- mogebier, on 02/02/2009, -3/+6How much if it was left after being towed through NJ?
Better check the scrap dealers! - charlie55, on 02/03/2009, -2/+5i do. tell me more, awesomesteve! and start all sentences with awesome please
- killahwhale, on 02/02/2009, -2/+5for being underwater it does not look that bad.
- oboshoe, on 02/03/2009, -1/+4I find it amusing its still being called flight 1549 even as its rolling down a street, several weeks after the flight ended.
Now its just a crashed airbus.
Those are great pics though. - mrmod, on 02/03/2009, -0/+2http://www.instantrimshot.com
- ancientdinko, on 02/02/2009, -0/+2not a speck of bird poo anywhere!
- BossKey, on 02/03/2009, -0/+2Let's call up that flight on the flight tracker...yup, it's in Jersey.
- mrmod, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1everyone gets overtime for working off shift, of course it get's a lot of security
- Nsomnia001, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1Modern tractors and trailers very very rarely jackknife. Look it up on wikipedia.
- Kr1ngle0, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1Or the RSS feed....
- DirtyVicar, on 02/03/2009, -1/+2The way airlines are having trouble with operational expenses, this is probably how they'll be doing flights from New York to Chicago one day. It'll take 15 hours and cost $700.
- inactive, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1Hobos could not afford Hoboken these days, trust me.
- BossKey, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1Yes, it's a salvage yard, but it's not time to be junked just yet. FTA:
"It'll stay there for 18 months for the National Transportation Safety Board investigation." - Jeremyz0r, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1Lies! I watched Nation Treasure, the Hudson is dirty!
- MetalliTooL, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1That's one big ass-dildo.
- Avaseal, on 02/05/2009, -0/+1now if only I could come up with a segway from seeing the oversized load sign to how the passengers probably dropped a huge load in their pants when the pilot was landing the plane..
- DiggzDE, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1I like your thinking Kyan.
snotrokit: I'm still trying to figure out how it has any "tangible historical" worth. It doesn't. It is just a minuscule event that really didn't change anything in a historically significant way. So why the hell would we be so apt to memorialize it? - mantrvl, on 02/16/2009, -0/+1Very cool. I would hate to be stuck behind that in traffic. But very cool shots.
- blagger80, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1Peterbuilt.
- MRintheKeys, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1I know this. The 200 people aboard that plane probably give their pilot and co-pilots top billing over any astronaut you introduce the survivors to.
- K4Lic0, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1You know, most people just look at the front page.
- oboshoe, on 02/03/2009, -2/+3Oh I don't know.
Every single Apollo capsule crashed in the water, and the Smithsonian was all over it
;) - inactive, on 02/03/2009, -0/+1wow i expecting a lot more damage done to the plan then this.
