Take the 15 bucks you're gonna pay for a Vodka Redbull and get a bottle of Smirnoff and a Rockstar and climb up that fence you've been meaning to fix, and crawl up on your roof and drink to your frugalness. And don't be worried about the female situation. For two bucks more you can get a bottle of Boonze Fuzzy Navel and the ladies will flock to you like a Spartan. Now, I know what you're saying, but don't worry. Those ARE the kind of girls you want around.

- aghman, on 07/09/2008, -3/+9I love rooftop bars, although drinking at them is usually out of my price range. If you get the chance, you should find one and enjoy the view.
I was at one in Singapore and you could see Malaysia, which is even cooler after you've had a few to drink. - ironeus, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5yea, seeing Malaysia sober just isn't the same :-/
- HuskyPuzzle, on 07/10/2008, -1/+6Sirocco, that first place, is legit. For a crazy night in Bangkok go there and get boozed up right before heading to the pingpong shows to see the craziest, weirdest ***** you never knew existed in the world of strip clubs. I saw a girl pop balloons on the ceiling with a dart gun from her pussy, lying on the stage. Ain't no jokes...
- diulei, on 07/10/2008, -0/+5Uh, if I'm not mistaken, Ghostbar and Moon are two different things.
Moon = Club above the Playbay area in the new Palms tower,
Ghostbar = Bar on top of the original Palms tower - drstock, on 07/10/2008, -0/+5I like Voodoo Lounge in Las Vegas. 51st and 52nd floor with minimal railing.
http://www.wantickets.com/images/event/VoodooLoung ... - dpazar2, on 07/10/2008, -0/+5Signiture Room atop the Hancock building in Chicago trumps some of these places. Although its more of a lounge/Bar, it still should be considered. 94 stories high with a great view overlooking Chicago???? Come on!
- jks139, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4I recommend Club 737 for those visiting Montreal.
- whodatis, on 07/10/2008, -1/+5Now link to all the pics! capiche?
- ianmack, on 07/10/2008, -1/+5Wow....balloons on the ceiling? Not THAT'S wild.
- claycollins, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4If you're wondering whether these places have WIFI then you need to get a life.
- Upon66, on 07/10/2008, -0/+4Mirror?
- BlockedUser, on 07/10/2008, -0/+3What did i tell ya!! Like flies gentlemen. (puffs a bubble pipe)
- bootie, on 07/10/2008, -0/+3The Standard in LA is the quintessential LA bar....cool place to hang out on a roof poolside or in one of the water beds.
- slugicide, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2In Kyoto, go here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/slugicide/2591146738/ ...
All you can eat and drink for 4 hours for just $30. Right next to Kyoto Station. - woofers07, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2why spoil it with the best bar at the top of the list? didn't really lead up to much.
- Linkin4, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2I love drinking!
- Lucas123, on 07/10/2008, -1/+3Somehow combining the words "rooftop" and "bar" seems like an accident waiting to happen.
- diulei, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2By your logic, no one should ever go out to drink... you're always paying for the atmosphere. For the price of two cheap ($5) drinks and tip, you could easily buy enough alcohol to drink yourself silly at home.
- ihavebeenseen, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1my fav in dallas
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ninjatune/2655407714/ ... - koenigje, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Gravity Bar aka Guinness Factory is an great place for a pint straight from the hops. It's unfortunatly not a real bar though since you can't just go there to drink all night. It's a tourist attraction more than anything, but well worth it!
- novoare, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Definitely check out the Condesa DF bar in Mexico City--the one on the roof OR the one inside on the ground level. Both are amazing. And aghman-- you can find something in your price range!
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1You dont have to stay or eat at Sirocco in Bangkok.
Best part is the waitress's are hot and shall we say available. - rypic7, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1those pictures really sucked. i'm sure the bars are cool, but they surely weren't done justice.
- deva14, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1I've never made it to any of these (yet!) but I always love a good rooftop bar...
I was on the rooftop terrace at the Grand Hotel in Toronto a couple weeks back... hot tub and a fantastic view. Sweet! - TWillz, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1One of the coolest bars ever. That's where I'm proposing to my girl soon.
- giveer, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1While not overly posh as a bar, I was very impressed with the rooftop patio bar with a fully functional sand beach volleyball court on top in Victoria, B.C....
- laughandsing, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Mmm... Boone's farm!! ftw!
- Gabado, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1There are better rooftop spots in Vegas than Moon, the Foundation Room being one...
- slicky803, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1My personal fav: Bar Rouge in Shanghai.
- jmlambe, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1So....slow...LINK???
- mercury187, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1dugg, i've been to the voodoo lounge the last couple times I went to vegas, before they made the witch doctor popular on three sheets w/ zane lamphrey I'll have to check out #7 when I go again in august since #7 made it on the list but voodoo lounge did not...
- staceystamps, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Did it make the list? (browser issues)
I love that bar! - d3dm, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1The only given with a rooftop bar is that at least once every Saturday night, someone walking on the street below is going to say, "Hey look! It's raining brown corn!"
- po43292, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1drawer dropping?
- dhirajj, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1230 5th in nyc is my personal favorite, and you don't need to be a guest of a hotel to get in
- po43292, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1I love drinking on top of the roof of my double wide trailer! Yeeeee-haw!
- diulei, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Most have high glass / plastic walls to keep you from throwing items or yourself over the edge without blocking the view. I think most don't have glass cups either.
- diulei, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Technically not a "roof top bar", but the New York Bar & Grill in Tokyo (Shinjuku Park Hyatt, I think 'Lost in Translation' was built there) has an absolutely draw dropping view of the city.
- ColdChilli, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1No rooftops in Wriggleyville?
Watching the Cubs game with all you can eat and drink! - wireboss, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1The Standard hotel in Downtown Los Angeles
http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-standard-rooftop-bar-l ... - mon11uk, on 07/13/2008, -0/+1I've been to Gravity - if you sign up for a tour of the Guiness factory, you'll get to have a free pint at Gravity - pretty cool. Hope I can try the others on this list one day - surprised no entries from San Francisco - just moved here- are there any cool bars with a vista here at all?
- MixMastaKooz, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Voodoo is pretty sweet! Here's a tip. If you want to go in as a VIP and skip the line, go up to head valet or bagman (sorry, I forgot what they're called right now) out front and give him $15 for a VIP pass. He only has a few, so get it early.
- inactive, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1Sirocco is OUTDOORS.
- centran, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1boo. for ordinary proposal.... but if you go there and have a helicopter hover outside the window with a sign then you got something! I would suggest trying to bribe the local newstations for this stunt as news helicopters will have greater fly permissions.
If all else fails, I know where they land the WGN copter. ;) - EmperorAwesome, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1And to add insult to injury, trendy bars tend to attract a bartender-attention-stealing crowd.
- hitkaiser, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1They are not joking about the queues in the Madrid one, every time I see it I just can't be bothered. Also they are very strict on their dress code which makes it annoying.
- MixMastaKooz, on 07/10/2008, -0/+1If anybody remembers Diggnation in St. Louis, Vin de Set has a great rooftop bar where you can see all of downtown/the Arch.
