Never did I imagine that I'd end up watching the whole thing, and then look up air fares.... - lex0nyc, on 05/24/2009, -0/+6You should get some scientists out there. It looks like you have major temporal displacement issues.
- Daan01, on 05/24/2009, -0/+5Which means this song (among others) is saving us from giant pets taking over the world...
- buddypriefert, on 05/24/2009, -0/+5How did the waves move "relatively" slower than the clouds at 1:51?

- mediaphile, on 05/24/2009, -0/+3Sort of like Koyaanisqatsi and Baraka, except just timelapse.
- lex0nyc, on 05/24/2009, -1/+3Believe it or not, some of us know a little bit about geography.
- xeic, on 05/24/2009, -0/+2Translation:
"These islands are awesome. They're near Africa* and always have good weather and volcanic soil, with clean and dark beaches**.
Canary Islands are ideal for the people from Europe, for a few days scape for a good price a few kilometres from the continent***"
*Actually, Canary Islands are African islands
**The grammar of the original text is that crappy and it either does make sense.
***~2000km aren't "a few" (1242.74 miles). - WhiteIce89, on 05/23/2009, -0/+2I'd kill for a link to that song
- inactive, on 05/24/2009, -0/+2No, they'll ruin it!
- Drexus, on 05/24/2009, -1/+2Makes me want to pick the camera up again. Oh the days were so simple back then.
- xeic, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1You're right.
- DeluxeLunchbox, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1What is that in the thumbnail? It looks like giant mounds of cocaine.
- Sail4life8, on 05/26/2009, -1/+2awesome video
- kazsymonds, on 05/24/2009, -1/+2Until you realise the average wage is around £105 per week, so they are living in relative poverty. (Unless you are from Zimbabwe, in which case you should definately move to the Canaries).
- liam1, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1I used to live in Tenerife, then moved back to England.
For shame!
- I was only 12/13 at the time. - Fluvant, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1Damn... she's just a mannequin (0:19)
- lex0nyc, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1What, in Vietnam?
- norz, on 05/25/2009, -0/+1I prefer 'Eclectic 3.0', also by Ross Ching:
http://www.vimeo.com/3551875
PS: why can't google chrome play this video smoothly on a 2.2Ghz core 2 duo?
Nevermind, mplayer also has difficulties with the downloaded .mov. VLC seems to work a little better. - phishneslo, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1they make it there. well, they take it out of the ocean there...
- kazsymonds, on 05/26/2009, -0/+1Ok let me attack this from another angle.
Minimum wage of 650 = 150 euros per week. For the last 4 years that has been not a material amount more than £105, it was probably £105 when i looked in 2005.
Just to finish this off, a normal price for a pint of lager is 4 euros.
I know a few people that live in Tenerife, and it sure as hell isn't for the money. - phishneslo, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1dude. i know you japs like your loyal pets (i think you made a statue to a dog who waited for his dead owner for years at the train stations), but a bird? and what loos like a budgie, aka, parakeet, is not regarded as one of the smarter birds out there... you suck. and so did your video. of some chick with a crappy bird in her hand.
- javajoba, on 05/25/2009, -0/+1Great time lapse of the clouds.
- phishneslo, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1no doubt. that was not only the best combination of time-lapse and slow motion i think i have ever seen, the scenery was incredible. and the music matched. that was some serious good video editing.
- crash013, on 05/25/2009, -0/+1Ads? What ads?
- inactive, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1That was not in the video.
- phishneslo, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1i agree, but this kind of made up for those stories....
- Vincent12234, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1Wow now that is a beautiful video! Amazing.
- norz, on 05/25/2009, -0/+1It's not related to exposure. It means that you take one photo (frame) each minute for instance, then assemble them and play it at 24 frames per second.
In this case, the speed would then be 24*60=1440 times faster than in reality.
"Time-lapse photography is a cinematography technique whereby each film frame is captured at a rate much slower than it will be played back. When replayed at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. Time-lapse photography can be considered to be the opposite of high speed photography."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timelapse - conkeso, on 05/24/2009, -1/+2Minimum wage in Spain is 650€/month which is like 585£/month or around 145£/week, I repeat MINIMUM.
Nothing like the number you suggested - Asheis, on 05/25/2009, -0/+1not so impressed. Sure, the area is beautiful, but if you're looking for some really stellar time lapse stuff, check this out:

It felt like a mediocre tourist video, to be honest. the clouds arcing over the mountains were interesting - that's it. - WhiteIce89, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1Thanks a bunch =]
And for those interested, it's the first track on his album Ritual Suite - inactive, on 05/24/2009, -0/+1Great vid, but that area might kill off the eastern USA someday. I know that a lot of you would not mind that, but I live in South Florida. It's scary to me.
Link: http://www.rense.com/general13/tidal.htm - gcgus, on 06/01/2009, -0/+0Four hours flight to Amsterdam or Edimburgh. I´ve did it. One and a half to Madrid.
- BrownieMix, on 05/24/2009, -1/+1It's not stupid.... :'(
- nota61, on 05/24/2009, -0/+0it's a wind
- gcgus, on 06/01/2009, -0/+0nota61, history is not your best. Your mixing facts and concepts. Western Sahara was not ruled by Spain until late XIX century. In XV century normands working for the king of Castilla begin the conquer of Canary Islands that in that time were inhabitated by people in neolithic age, not arabs or black people but bereberian type. So there´s nothing to do with Sahara, except it´s 90 km from home; Spain mainland is not more than 30 km from Africa (see Gibraltar strait).
- Cyberdactyl, on 05/25/2009, -1/+1I thought "time lapse" was exposures over many seconds, minutes or hours apart.
This all looked like video that is sped up or slowed. - m4nt3, on 05/25/2009, -2/+2Ide kill to get that song removed. That flute is hella annoying. Sorry mate.
- nota61, on 05/24/2009, -0/+0Exactamente 1.400klm (1 hora y media de avion): http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canarias
- gcgus, on 06/01/2009, -0/+0I saw that happen in a CSI Miami episode. :-)
