- amauldin71, on 04/01/2009, -0/+9Some of those places are a tad on the ***** side.
- Revadarth, on 04/01/2009, -0/+9should be titled, "list of the world biggest cities"
i'm sure there are many more destinations that are greater than these, but are not densely populated, and thus, not recognized - sergiolopes, on 04/01/2009, -0/+7Completely biased, of course. Having 16 US cities while forgetting such places as Easter Island and Machu Picchu is absurd.
- inactive, on 04/01/2009, -2/+6Buried. Tired of big, crowded, dirty cities named as the world's "greatest" destinations.
- grovest4life, on 04/01/2009, -0/+3Dugg because its not a slide show but has an intelligent design with a drop down menu that other sites mainly forbes should learn from.
- darkosh25, on 04/01/2009, -0/+2What, no Dubrovnik?
I got Kanye West after the digg. - Pasaris, on 04/01/2009, -1/+3There's a reason why a lot of people live in these cities. They are great.
- jwolcott, on 04/01/2009, -0/+2Thanks for the drop-down box warning, otherwise I would have shat my pants!
- sofaking30, on 04/01/2009, -0/+2atleast this is better than the askmen submission
- suzanek, on 04/01/2009, -0/+2Great to seen some Indian cities.
- calypsis, on 04/01/2009, -0/+2I don't really like the list. all those places are awesome, but some of the worlds greatest places include the likes of Salar de Uyuni, Easter Island (mentioned by sergiolopes earlier) and Petra.
- ftwb, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1And I got Spaghetti Cat. It's April 1.
- whyaay, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1Change it from places of a lifetime to largest cities in a bunch of western countries and then a few others sparsely thrown in. I'd rather find something with cultural or historical immersion from a NatGeo list then just who has the most people in said location. terrible.
- aceakm, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Cool, I dugg the article and ***** my pants when some ***** invaded my private space.
- david3704, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1delhi sucks
- choopie911, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1I've got about half of those covered
- Simo, on 04/01/2009, -1/+2Yup, drop all the US cities bar NY. Cairo is missing too.
- ftwb, on 04/02/2009, -0/+1While there is definitely a U.S.-bias (come on, Atlanta!?), it's not as bad as it might seem. The U.S. is huge (in both area and population) and wealthy. For these reasons there are a disproportionately large number of tourist destinations in the U.S. compared to other countries. There are fantastic cities (NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Miami) as well as great natural tourist spots (Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Hawaii, Rocky Mountains).
So while Atlanta, Los Angeles and Dallas have no business on this list, keep in mind that the United States is nearly as large as all of Europe and wealthier than most of it. There is a lot to do and see in the U.S. - steesje, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Bali should be on this list.
- venuspcs, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Dayum I have been to like half of these cities....
- venuspcs, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Mr T "I pity the fool that dugg that story" for me.....I bout pissed on myself laughing.
