- Frankzulla, on 11/13/2009, -0/+16We just had a big metal slide that burned your ass on a warm day when I was growing up.
- iDiggYa, on 11/13/2009, -0/+14My elementary school used to have a huge wooden apparatus playground, which was pretty awesome. I passed by a few years later and they had replaced it with a dingy plastic one. I died a little inside.
- abdullahishtiaq, on 11/13/2009, -1/+12quite recently our administration has started to meke good parks here in Islamabad but these are very ....
- tomr1458699, on 11/13/2009, -0/+10These are pretty cool. All except for the nightmarish Michelin Man. That's going to give me bad dreams.
- spookyttws, on 11/14/2009, -0/+9We used to have an awesome full metal playground that was at least 20 feet high, had dumb-waiter like elevators were you could pull your self up, twisty slides and lots of fun contraptions. Then some inattentive bitch failed to watch her kid as he jumped off the top and broke his leg. She sued the city and got the whole thing taken out and replaced with this 5 foot plastic piece of crap one fifth the size of the old one. I hate those type of people.
And by a lot these comments, this sort of thing seems to be not uncommon around the country. - bobdigi, on 11/13/2009, -1/+8Without even looking, I am guessing that Japan has about 8 on this list.
- doctechnical, on 11/13/2009, -1/+6Evidently Japan doesn't have much of a mosquito problem if they can leave all those tires lying around like that.
- Velocity14, on 11/14/2009, -0/+5There need to be more playgrounds for us "grown ups." It'd be bad ass to get coffee/tea/chai on your lunch break and be able to roam around an outdoor setting with random things to interact with. Somehow sans hobo urine and dog *****. Things to pique your curiosity and imagination in the middle of the day... sounds like a capital idea.
- MrBenC, on 11/14/2009, -0/+2roller slide at dennis the menace park:

Anyway... I used to walk through Teardrop Park everyday to get to work. I was so tempted to check out that slide, but unfortunately I would walk through with my boss. and plus there were a bunch of menacing children hanging around it. Damn kids ruin everything.
- MrBenC, on 11/14/2009, -0/+2some chick breaking her leg at said cement slide park:

- smemily, on 11/14/2009, -0/+2They have a park in Albuquerque that has a full outdoor workout circuit built in around a walking path. It's pretty cool actually because the machines are all adjustable, and you can run a lap, then do 5 squats, then run a lap, and do 10 leg extensions, or whatever. It's like a free, outdoor gym.
- immatellyouwhat, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1WHAT HAPPENED TO MY SCHOOOOOO????!!!!!!!
- Velocity14, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1T8erT0T - I already have. And whatever it is I originally planned on doing was going outside to go climb *****. Sometimes, it would just be awesome to have the destination already provide you swingable swings that don't squeeze your hips, climbable objects that won't get you in trouble with the law for scaling, and a bountiful array of trees to weave hysterically through.
Also, it would be necessary to have bench swings. Or table swings where a group of four can sit on either side and sway lightly while chattin'. - T8erT0T, on 11/14/2009, -1/+2Playgrounds for grownups = Smoke a bowl of weed and do whatever it is your originally planned on doing (within reason).
- merlin99, on 11/17/2009, -0/+1all i got as a kid was a football and a piece of grass with dog crap on it.
- DeathToaster, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1Who remembers those slides with the rollers?
- smemily, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1Leathers & Associates might've been behind the old one, they make some of the best wooden playgrounds out there:
http://www.leathersassociates.com/photo_gallery.ph ... - vittoriohg, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1pretty much all of these playgrounds look ***** bomb but the last one from spain looked like a modernized piece of *****.
- FlyingCaveman, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1I've been taking my 3 year old daughter to gymnastics and I wish I didn't have to supervise her. I want to go play on the trampoline and climb ropes, and spring-board into pit of foam blocks.
- arslanartist, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1These are pretty cool. All except for the nightmarish Michelin Man.
- MrBenC, on 11/14/2009, -0/+1what no Denis the Menace park in monterey, CA? there used to be a huge dinosaur looking thing there that was pretty much more dangerous than a real dinosaur would have been.
