- snowysnowcones, on 05/15/2009, -2/+23I think Mexico is taking a toll on Mexico tourism
- djvchris, on 05/15/2009, -0/+12Well I for one never saw this coming.
- jeexbit, on 05/15/2009, -2/+14Whatever - I'm going in August and I can't ***** wait!
- MrScotchBoy, on 05/14/2009, -0/+12I can't imagine anyone wanting to travel to Mexico right now, then again, I bet you could get a bargain on travel deals :)
- KMartSheriff, on 05/15/2009, -0/+11She didn't the whole *****? Or did she accidentally a *****?
- morgino, on 05/15/2009, -2/+10The heads (literally) rolling down the streets can't really be helping either
- GrammerPants, on 05/15/2009, -0/+8And the chances of you actually getting swine flu are what? Less then the chance of getting a normal flu?
- Altanar, on 05/15/2009, -3/+11At least the swine flu got people's minds off the drug cartels' assassinations and kidnappings. Right?
- javiero, on 05/15/2009, -2/+9I am driving there tonight from Phoenix. :) cant wait
- inactive, on 05/15/2009, -1/+7Thanks for the weed tho...
- egoideal, on 05/15/2009, -1/+6Even harder hit is the, much larger, kidnapping for ransom industry.
- kevincw01, on 05/15/2009, -0/+4what's worse that drug cartels and police fighting a civil war? drug cartels and police fighting a civil war with a little swine flu mixed in
- sexybobo, on 05/15/2009, -0/+4Yes but people in the US that get it are getting the proper medical treatment instead of dropping dead like in mexico.
The really interesting thing is every year 30,000 people die of the regular flu in the US - Dustmuffins, on 05/15/2009, -0/+4That's *****. In Juarez, SEVERAL of my mom's co-workers have either been carjacked, held up for cash, and one was killed.
It's really ***** bad. - inactive, on 05/15/2009, -0/+3does it also have anything to do with getting shot in the face?
- cherwilco, on 05/15/2009, -0/+3the Enchiladapocolypse is upon us!
- Matricsx, on 05/15/2009, -0/+3And if you get sick with AH1N1 Flu (swine), while you are in Cancun , you will get 3 years of paid vacations... and its not a joke
http://www.vacationideas.me/caribbean/free-vacatio ... - androothebear, on 05/15/2009, -0/+3im supposed to go June 13th. I pray it'll be done by then...
- pantsperch, on 05/15/2009, -0/+2Yay, I'm headed there in a week.
- JanetFlair, on 05/15/2009, -0/+2I'm sure all of the violence with the drug community has nothing to do with it. All those headless bodies they keep finding and the Americans being kidnapped and held ransom. The state issued travelers warning.... ringing any bells? Sure - it's the swine flu we are afraid of...
- mitrovarr, on 05/15/2009, -0/+2The thing to remember is, there's a ton of places to go on vacation that are all pretty great, so any little thing can chase people away. I mean, sure, the odds of you dying from swine flu are miniscule (however, the odds of you getting it and getting sick are much higher, as are your odds of bringing it back with you), but there's no good reason you couldn't just go tour Yellowstone this time, or go somewhere else in the Caribbean, or maybe see Hawaii, and leave Mexico alone until this blows over. I know it's already past the point of containment and then some, but don't go help it along just because you don't wanna make new vacation plans.
- HEcto1, on 05/15/2009, -2/+4I went to Puerto Vallarta last week, I didnt get the flu, I Got the best vacations EVER!
- hartley, on 05/15/2009, -0/+2Swine flu takes toll on Tamiflu supplies.
All old, soon to be expired stock from the avian flu is thankfully sold to the masses.
Good thing we had this crisis. - askantik, on 05/15/2009, -0/+2I'm going to Mexico next summer, even if ***** about the swine flu is still a huge deal. Thousands of people die from the "regular" flu every year, even here in America... And I don't not leave my house for fear of that.
- inactive, on 05/15/2009, -0/+2Of course. No need to ask for any permission whatsoever though.
- brokeswagen, on 05/23/2009, -0/+2I feel it's safe to say that most people who travel to Mexico are High Schooler kids going to feel cool and drink at a bar. Once I turned 21 I said ***** mexico, most of it is a ***** hole. Besides I live in Phoenix and it's basically Mexico anyways.
- douglasr007, on 05/15/2009, -0/+2Don't drink the water from there
- lanzemurdok, on 05/16/2009, -0/+2lol i just realized i accidentally the whole sentence
- blqysmg, on 05/15/2009, -0/+2I went to Cancun in March and got the flu. No one checked to see what strain it was, but I've never been affected by the flu as hard as I was the two weeks I was sick with this one. It got our whole family. It may have been H1N1, or may have been the normal flu.
Even knowing that I caught the flu then, I would not cancel a trip there just because there is a small chance of getting sick. You've gotta live your life, not be afraid of everything. - SpyDerMann, on 05/16/2009, -0/+2O RLMNTE?
- TravelChannel, on 05/15/2009, -0/+2The travel vacancies will present some great discounts and opportunities once the swine flu vacates, keep Mexico on the watch!
- Megadeth222, on 05/15/2009, -1/+2Ironic though, the US has now more Swine Flu cases than Mexico does.
- mydiggID1, on 05/15/2009, -2/+3Someone is purposely trying to ***** up Mexico.
- popstation, on 05/15/2009, -1/+2OMG swine flu is after me... for crying out loud grow a ***** pair already.
- shawnfromnh, on 05/15/2009, -0/+1Yeah swine flu. Couldn't be the drug cartel wars, couldn't be the worldwide recession, couldn't be resentment from having the mexican government, ex mexican president, and that crappy group la risa or however its spelled spouting crap on how the US bites for building a wall to keep unwanted illegal aliens out and from stealing jobs in the US from legal citizens. No couldn't be that, it has to be the flu.
- ollygb, on 05/15/2009, -0/+1its a shame the swine flu has hurt tourism, but the murdering bastard druglords killing all sorts of people didnt have an effect...go figure
- mittortz, on 05/15/2009, -1/+2I'm going in two weeks, with a friend, just for fun :)
Swine flu doesn't matter so much when you're sipping margaritas (legally, we're still 18) with wonderful mexican chicas. Even makes you forget the drug wars.
EDIT: and yes, plane tickets were quite the bargain. - ankushvohra, on 05/20/2009, -0/+1hey friends i need information " can i get visa on arrival in MEXICO?
- tonkinese, on 05/15/2009, -0/+1I just traveled to Mexico last week, I went to Tulum (one hour south of Cancun). There is no reason not to go, I am fine and no one there even knew anyone who had the flu. Great time to go if you're the type who doesn't believe everything they hear. I had an amazing time in a tourist free paradise.
- Altanar, on 09/11/2009, -0/+1Who posts replies on comments that are four months old on Digg?!? I was puzzled, but then I looked at your profile. Did a search for Mexico and decided to troll some people who you think will never respond, eh? Feel that bad about Mexico that you have to make comments on long forgotten articles?
- aufte, on 05/15/2009, -4/+5Come on America, show us your still the kings of overreacting! If it's treated, you only have a chance of surviving in the high 90s! My dear god, this is almost as bad as SARS, which only had a 99% survival rate!
- Gnarstache, on 05/15/2009, -1/+2We should infect those damn somali pirates with the swines
- llopez1223, on 05/16/2009, -1/+2I am sorry for what happened to your mom's co-workers, BUT you just proved my point. Juarez is a border town.
- ankushvohra, on 05/20/2009, -0/+1hey friends i need information " can i get visa on arrival in MEXICO?"
- kamikazedriver, on 05/15/2009, -1/+1some one please help, booked holiday to cancun for july. Still going to be busy? clubs shut? ghost town? bricking my pants that its going to be a let down.
- Grueslayer, on 05/15/2009, -1/+1Woah I thought nothing would get all the pedophiles looking for underage hookers out of Mexico. Go swine flu go!
- Grueslayer, on 05/18/2009, -0/+0It also is part Human... so I take it cannibalism is out too... damn!
- Saudagarr, on 10/29/2009, -0/+0Lucky my country not really effected by Swine Flu. Tourists still coming by big numbers here.
